Meeting 2: Passionate about Cars

What features of cars are important?
What are the (official and unofficial) rules of the road
Which automotive companies are active in your area?

Internationalisation at Home

Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Germany and UVic-UCC in Spain have an agreement to foster collaboration between their universities and, in particular, their Automotive Engineering students. However, so far, the students have never met and do not know anything personal about each other, their passion for cars, their universities, their local culture or the region they study in.

In two online meetings with participants from Ostfalia and UVic your task is to provide a solution to the above problem and present your findings to the class at your home university in a creative and entertaining way.

Before the exchange

Teachers will assign you to a group (3-4 students)
Teachers will put you in contact with the other members of the group.
Contact your group and agree on a time for the two online meetings.
Read the task instructions and prepare for the meeting.
UVic students are responsible for sending the link to the meetings, recording them and sharing them with teachers.
Meetings should be about 30-minutes long

Maintaining the conversation

Participate actively in the meeting.
Do not dominate the conversation.
Be sensitive and respectful to cultural differences
When beginning a new topic, offer the floor to others before taking it yourself.
Allow extra time and silence for people to respond.
Ask questions.
Answer questions and finish by asking another question related to the topic.
Make friendly comments to help people participate.
