O Week

Hi,

This is what peace and happiness looks and feels like to me. Growing up on a small dairy farm, the beach was a place we could escape and not feel the pressures around us. Where our mind could breathe and relax. It reminds me off when the craziness stopped and the beauty overtook us. I enjoy art, growing up dancing 3-4 times a week i found a strong passion for the arts. I enjoy painting for fun.

I wanted to create a sense of calm through the feeling that plants give me. The beauty of how grass can evolve to green and change with the weather it adapts just like us as humans. The plants we surround ourselves with allow us to feel and change our moods which i think is aspirational to the way we can change a day. Strong vibrant colours and mutated tones allow us to breathe and create. The explosion of diversity allows us to get lost in the art of knowledge and adaptation.

Week 2

For this week's art portal i decided to use recycled items to create awareness of issues. BY doing this I chose to reduce, reuse and recycle to create awareness of a topic that is important to society. I;m trying to deliver a message through how we can use common plastic and cardboards to cut back on materials through the use of reusing and recycling. I think art can promote feelings and highlight topics through illustrations of messages. This topic is important as we throw away common household items everyday as they are deemed not reusable and important. Creating art that impacts people to change their thought process is important.

Week 4

I complete this task while following along the tutorial where music was played. I found I needed to process the music a couple times before beginning to draw as well as have a clear mind. As the sounds where loud or quiet i painted longer or shorter brush strokes that created an artwork.

I really enjoyed playing around with this one. I ended up creating a movie that used different angles to highlight the importance of rubbish accumulating and taking over. This involvement of the movement slowly taking over piece by piece represents how rubbish can build up and take over all at once and doesn't take long. This task has the opportunity for students to extend knowledge on ICT media and incorporate the arts with meaningful messages this task could lead to students creating artwork through short films as well as incorporating other media arts into the mix.

Week 6 - Koala Dance

I researched how koalas act, eat, sleep and move and used that knowledge to incorporate into a dance. Koalas are nocturnal animals that usually sleep during the day. I enjoyed choreographing this dance as it was quite fun and showed how we need to be innovative to learn new things about different animals and incorporate into the arts. My dance moves consisted of koalas, stretching and tossing as they go about their long sleep.
