His parents didn't care about him and he went to prison when he was 10 years old. All Dally wants to do is help Johnny because Johnny reminds him of himself when he was younger. When Johnny dies he goes into shock, then anger, and then gets himself killed. "Dally swallowed and reached over to push Johnny's hair back" (148). In the personality test results, Dally is an entrepreneur. We really agree with the characteristics of an entrepreneur. They are direct, sociable, original, bold, full of life/energy, notice change, and he makes a natural leader. It says in the book that although it wasn't said, Dally was basically the leader of the group. He is also very sociable with girls. Like with Cherry. "  He put his feet up on the back of the redhead's chair, winked at me, and beat his own record for saying something dirty" (27). His weakness are he is insensitive, impatient, risk prone, defiant, may is the bigger picture, he likes to live in he moment, likes to take risks, and he doesn't feel a lot of emotions. When he was in the hospital after the rumble he pulled a blade on a doctor which show his risk taking. He is always very defiant. He doesn't follow the law. "He liked to show he didn't care whether there was a law or not" (20). Entrepreneurs are looking for friends that want excitement and risk. Before he was fresh and good. He never knew what it was like to be broken. But soon his parents lost interest on him and he went to jail . After he got out he became moldy and expired. He is the youngest greaser and isn't very burly, but he's smart. He  would love to live in the country and have a peaceful life. This is a good example how for Pony loves peace and nature. He is in charge of his two younger brothers, Pony and Soda since their parents died. He sometimes gets into fights with pony and usually wins, even though sometimes he gets upset and realizes that he does the wrong thing. "Darry screamed, "Pony I didn't mean to!" But I was at the lot by then and pretended I didn't hear" (50). Dally takes risks and does what he wants. He is arrogant and aggressive. He  comes from a home where the only way to survive is by being tough and fighting back.  This makes him irrational and causes him to jump into things without thinking.  An example of his risk taking and aggressiveness is "' We gotta see him,' Dally said, and flicked out Two-Bit's switchblade" (147). In this example, he shows how  aggressive he is because he pulled a sharp blade on a doctor.

Bob is basically the leader of the bully's of the Socs. Bob loves to pick fights with greasers. This makes Bob the town bully. One example that he is the town bully is in the book, "Bob shook his head, smiling slowly. 'You could use a bath, greaser. And a good working over. And we've got all night to do it. Give the kid a bath, David" (55). "'Leave her alone, Dally'" (22). This is irony because  Bob is one of the town bullies that beat up and almost killed Johnny. He is the "leader" of the Socs who like to pick on people. You wouldn't expect Bob to be killed.Another reason this is irony is because Johnny is the one who killed him. Johnny is the "gang's pet" and isn't as "tuff" as the others so you wouldn't expect to kill anyone. Even Johnny is shocked he actually killed a guy. The author uses irony in the book, The Oustiders to create a juicy climax to interest readers. "'I killed him," he said slowly. The author put this conflict in the story because every story has conflict and this is The Outsiders conflict.
