The introduction of cloud storage coincided with the smartphone revolution, which worked worked the idea in with another product that had a rapid growth rate. Early on, security needed to be demonstrated to large organizations, before the usage of virtual storage could be widely adopted. Consumers also needed to change a long-held view that long-term memory was more important than short-term memory. Transferring the technology from mobile phones to more traditional computing style devices was eased by the introduction of tablets. This was then taken a step further with Google's Chromebook. As one of the first mass adopted hybrid vehicles, it changed the way we think about future transportation and entertained the idea of renewable energy as a viable energy source.
