1. The doctor and Prometheus are not alike due to the fact that Prometheus loved his creation and took responsibility over them while the doctor feared his creation and abandoned it.
2. Shelley might have entitled her manuscripts ¨The Modern Day Prometheus¨ because Victor also created life.
3. The three allusions Shelley used were: the bible, the albatross, and Prometheus.
4. The concept of the RAM is that everyone should respect gods creation and once someone tries to play god by taking another life they will have to face the consequences.
5. The poem sparked Walton's curiosity and inspired him to explore.
6. The Mariner and the stranger are similar in the concept that they both tried to play god the Mariner caused death and the stranger brought death back to life, they later go on warning people to not make the same mistakes.
7. Shelley foreshadows future events by using the poem to create suspense and giving the reader a hint of nostalgia by presenting the poem.

1. I don't think the Dr. was like Prometheus because Frankenstein abandoned his creation. As oppose to Frankenstein, Prometheus loved his creation enough to disobey Zeus to give them fire to survive. Frankenstein fled when his creature came to life. The Dr. would rather deny the creature his life while Prometheus wanted them to live.

2. I think Mary Shelley initially titled the manuscript "The Modern Day Prometheus" because like Prometheus, Dr. Frankenstein created life.

3. Three literary allusions

Rime of the Ancient mariner

burden

the mariner = Frankenstein & robert walton

Prometheus

Prometheus = Frankenstein

The bible

two creatures = Adam and Eve

4. The concept RAM refers to is responsibility and burden.

5. The poem is important to Robert because he can relate to it and the concept of sea voyaging.

6. The stranger is similar to the Ancient Mariner because they are both coming with a warning. They stop young men and relate their story in hopes of changing their aspect on life and make better decisions than they once did.

7. Shelley creates a mood surrounded by fear and suspense. We don't exactly know what to expect next, nor do we know if it will have a good or bad outcome.

#1 No, the doctor was not like Prometheus because, unlike Prometheus' caring nature for humans, Victor was disgusted by what he had created.
#2 Shelley might have named it after Prometheus because they both wanted to do good with their creations.
#3 The three stories that are alluded to are: the story of Prometheus, Victor suffers for his creation as did Prometheus, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Victor could've avoided the ordeal like the mariner, as well as to Adam and Eve when the creature refers to himself as Adam wanting his Eve.
#4 RAM refers to the concept of respecting all things around you along with not trying to play God as it can only end badly.
#5 RAM is important to Robert because the mariner is someone he can see as himself, someone to relate to.
#6 The stranger and the mariner were both people who toyed with God's creation where it then ended badly, so they go around spreading their knowledge so other people won't try to make the same mistake as them.
#7 The overall mood Shelley creates is suspense. She has the ability to keep you on edge because you don't know what Victor or the creature do next and it's very exciting.

Yes, Frankenstein was like Prometheus because Prometheus and Frankenstein gave humans something that only the God's should've been able to give. Prometheus gave the sacred fire and Frankenstein created a human. The only difference is that Frankenstein abandoned his creation and Prometheus didn't.
JT #2
Shelley named the book "Modern Prometheus" because she wanted to compare Frankenstein to the ancient Greek Mythology. Frankenstein, like Prometheus, suffered for humankind and the furtherance of human knowledge.
JT #3
The allusions are:
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner = Robert Walton's journey
Adam and Eve= Frankenstein's creation compares himself to Adam, for he is the first man "created".
Prometheus= they both sacrificed for creation of life
JT #4
The concept that RAM refers to is that you should love all Gods creations, if you do a sin towards one then you'll have to suffer the consequences.
JT #5
The poem may have inspired Robert Walton to explore the areas that the mariner did. He is now aware of what not to do when exploring to the south and he knows what to look forward to
JT #6
The mariner and the stranger in Frankenstein are similar because they both made mistakes that they had consequences for and they also spread their knowledge/experience with everyone else by telling their stories.
JT #7
Shelley portrays an ominous or suspenseful mood by alluding to this poem. By doing so, she foreshadows the events that are upcoming in the novel.
