She was familiar with area and had known the people there. When she was 16, she ran away from her home and moved to New Jersey. She had met Buster in collage and they had got married. They had then moved back to the Yukon when they were 22 in search for gold. Ruster would go mining while Buster would provide money to keep their house. They were wearing heavy fur and animal cloth cloths. They see a man lying against a rock with his face and beard frozen and full of snow. They approach slowly to the man as they see a wolf next to him. As they get closer they realized it was a dog and they ran to the man to help him. They had gathered birch wood, newspaper and some leafs and threw it in a pile. They struck a match and lit the fire. Ruster takes off her glove and puts her hand on the mans lifeless body. She feels the mans heart beating. As they realize the man is running out of time, they dragged the man to the front of their fire. They laid their lanterns down on the ground and started to pull the blankets out of their backpacks. They put the two blankets on the man. They looked at his lifeless eyes as they flashed open. Startled, the man asked who are you people. They introduced themselves as the man introduced himself. They were both heading in the same direction so they had agreed to walk together.
