I added Jigsaw as one of my strategies, however there are many more listed at the end of the CASEL Playbook that I posted above. Aside from the big strategies such as collaboration, co-teaching, using formative assessment to guide instruction, providing flexibility and choice

Here are some more specific strategies:

Reading workshop - like a book club. Every student has their own books (appropriate to their reading level) they are given time to read and come together to share the plot and try to "sell" their book to the group and can choose the presentation format that works best for them (video or voice recording, live, written, drawing they talk about...).

The heart map - to inspire writing - people I care about, places I know, moments in my life. Only you can tell your story. Use with mini lessons.

Make complex text more accessible by adding more white space, using headings,

I added several websites to this module that I found helpful in explaining different resources or strategies. One of my favourites is CASEL's SEL 3 Signiture Practices Playbook which is a great resource to support and educate on SEL and UDL. It does a great job of explaining the reasons why to incorporate SEL and UDL, addresses time constraints and what to do if short on time, the importance of relationships and reading the room. The other great component of this playbook is that it has links to videos or suggested strategies as well as a complete list of Welcoming Inclusion Activities, Engaging Strategies and Optimistic Closure ideas.

https://www.cultofpedagogy.com/jigsaw-teaching-strategy/

Although I feel I have a better understanding of the differences between adaptations and modifications than I did at the beginning of the course I am still unsure about academic modifications. As with many areas in education there seems to be a different understanding or procedure depending on who you speak with.

I would also like to get more familiar with the different assistive technology tools. I have only worked with the most common systems and would like to expand my knowledge and comfort in this area.

I really enjoyed the module on math and feel that I have a few new resources in my toolkit to use. I appreciated the dive into differentiated assessment and the different assessment options for literacy, again I feel that this is information that is practical and will help me as I move on.
