Some of the people in the movement were Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, and Sojourner Truth. Harriet Tubman helped with the underground railroad which was a secret escape for slaves to run away. Frederick Douglass was an escaped slave that started his own antislavery news paper called the north star in 1847. Women  had few legal or political rights, they were not aloud to talk about slavery or vote. After a while some women decided they had had enough of the unfair treatment and decided to do something about it. 

 Two of the women in the movement where Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Candy Stanton. Both of these women attended the worlds antislavery convention in London in 1840, but they were not aloud to speak. They were very unhappy about that and decided to make a change.
