a.       Currently funded Expanded Learning Programs (funded with:  ASES, 21^st CCLC, and/or ASSETs) tied to:  COVID-19 response, program quality (academic enrichment and educational enrichment activities), continuous quality improvement, collaboration between the instructional day and expanded learning provider, partnership between the Expanded Learning Program and LEA to maximize and leverage AB 130 (ELOP) funds to increase maximum number of students to be served at each site within LEA

 

b.       All LEAs without an ASES-alike program and AB 130 funding (Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs) to lift their awareness about AB 130 and the requirement to offer ASES-alike expanded learning programming to all students within the LEA (50 % this year and 100% year two and beyond)

 

c.       Currently funded Expanded Learning Programs (funded with ASES, 21^st CCLC, and/or ASSETs) Compassionate Systems awareness and opportunities to engage in individual and organizational learning

a.       Partner with other LACOE Units to integrate focus area technical assistance.

 

b.      Discussion with LACOE Leadership regarding need for AB 130 monies to provide technical assistance to LEAs and schools in need to provide ASES-alike programming to their students (currently there are an estimated 900 K-12 schools that may be in need of this support within Region 11-LA County; need to prioritize 300 K-6 programs this year).  Demand is growing for TA and there currently is no funding available within our Unit to meet this need – although with additional AB 130 dollars to support TA (from LACOE) we can restructure the Unit to meet the foreseeable demand.

 

§  Note:  Legislation did not include fiscal provision to support this need at the state level – although at the local level COEs do receive AB 130 monies to provide needed TA support to LEAs.

 

c.       As Compassionate Systems professional development requests surface, we lean forward to meet the demand.  Demand is growing at a rate it may soon be challenging to meet without a restructure to the ELTAU.
