         <description><![CDATA[<div>Lalande was good friends with Nicole-Reine Lepaute's husband. He was studying to be come a lawyer when he realized he was fascinated by astrology. He used a empty room in the Lepute's house to make his observations. He became intrigued by Halley's comet and approached Clairaut and asked to help calculate the math for Halley's comet. They realized they need more people, so Lalande asked Nicole to help. </div>]]></description>

Halley was influenced to create a catalog of the southern Hemisphere's stars modeling after Flamsteed's book on northern stars. He is famous for calculating the math for 24 comets, one of the most famous ones is a comet know now as Halley's comet. </div>]]></description>
