Personally i think that some products need to be sold in person with a conversation to the customer. I think this because when you are buying something you should be getting a second opinion on it. This helps you when your guessing if the product is even worth buying in the first place. Its hard compete with many online sources though because now a days thats where everyone gets there information from. By far i think online has made many more sales compared to in person.

Personally I think that yes the "selling cycle" does not exist anymore. The buying cycle makes a lot more sense to what exists these days. With todays technologies everyone likes to research what is going to be the best fit for them or what they think the best fit is. This is actually nice for a seller because its less work, you don't have to go in to every little detail but skip over the big ones they know and talk about specific ones that they might not know. As a seller this is also great because it gives you room to ask the buyer about what they are looking for and what you can really help them with. Also having a more educated cliental means a demand for better products and room for a higher price point.

In my opinion, I personally think that the selling cycle no longer exists. Instead of "the selling cycle", its now "the buying cycle". I think most people nowadays go into a store and know exactly what they're going to buy, whether thats from researching the products online, or reading reviews. Buying online is just so easy and simple, although when it comes to buying products I like to sample them first, so going into an actual store to talk to someone and get more knowledge on the products is very helpful. I think its still important to have a conversation with the customer in person.

I think that it kind of does still exist because we still use it to sell. Some people don't always do the research properly and that the employees know what they are talking about, sometimes they try to outsell you but that's because they are thinking of themselves and not the customer. Personally, I do my research and I also ask for help because sometimes I can't decide what is best and I ask them for the honest truth of their opinion on the product and if they would actually work for my skin type or something.

I believe that he's right but also wrong. what he'doing is he's comparing from how it was back then to how it is now but like why compare everything's changing. It's different now with technology and how everything is now but we still do sell in-store because some products can be sold online but some can't, some need to be tried on tested and some people already know there skin and what products go with there skin type but others don't. and some people don't know how to google stuff or do there research so they go in store and ask in-store. the worlds growing and evolving and also becoming worse than it was but technology is going to run the world before we know it. it already does. but if you also think about it it's also easier for us because it'll help do our research as well and that way we get to know our products even better and that way we could sell our products better. plus we could advertise them now and get people to share and like and comment on it.

It is different now with technology and how anyone can research different products and what will work best of them. However I do think some people like the face to face approach where they can develop some form of trust to buy the product.

I personally think that there is still a sales cycle because with giving services you can sell products, talk about and ask the clients what their concerns are and what they do and don't like regarding their skin routine and having someone recommend something that is chosen for you and what you want, it is hard not to buy it because it is nice to have high hopes that this product is going to work for you because a professional is recommending it to you. when buying something online you have to do your research to make sure that this product is going to work for you and your needs and it is much more work then having a product right in front of you and personalized to your needs.

Buying and selling go hand in hand, you cannot say that a "selling cycle" does not exist while still engaging in a "buying cycle". Of course, technology has made a change the buying/selling marketplace; however, people can still do their research online and purchase products from a seller. Companies will simply have to adjust their marketing techniques to adapt to the "new" buying cycle. The updated selling techniques will help to grow business by reaching a larger amount of customers; therefore, leading to a more successful business.

Not everyone nowadays use internet to research on information, some still prefer going to professionals and seek information. There are people who prefers seeing the product personally or have someone professional explain the benefit of the product they need. We recommend products to clients, we often recommend them the products that we used on their face during the facial. It is up to them if they would like to purchase it or continue using their own at home.

I do agree with some points in this article such as people do not like being sold to. I don’t like it only If I’m actually going there to buy a certain product. But when they try to get me to buy a product I find myself almost all the time falling for it and end up buying the product. They tell you all these good things about the product and a lot of the time they throw in ‘’if you buy this straightener right now they will give you a serum and brush for free. Which always catches my attention so I try to avoid those people at the booths in the mall.

I believe that yes the process of sales has changed over the years with the growth of technology. People look online for reviews and not ask the experts in person of their opinion or ask questions to them for the expert advice. It's good for customers to do their research totally. I would recommend looking at reviews, however, keeping in mind that the negative reviews may be because they don't truly know what product to look for, so it screws up everyone else's thought process on what to get for themselves.

I think that selling products in our era within out industry is very much overrated therefore I completely agree with the article and its depiction of selling a solutions vs the products which will gravitate the clients come to you and the products you are promoting. I feel as though if we the sales reps try selling our products the client will most likely get irritated, pressured and will walk away from you and your products. Although, in some fields I believe people need to sell the product to move upwards in their position and field.

Depending on the customer the selling cycle works, based on age. If an older women had many concerns about her skin for example I believe she would want to buy from someone who genuinely cares about her needs and concerns. Where as the younger generations tend to see something online and get sucked into a flashy advertisement or a trending product that they don’t even know will work for them. People don’t like being sold to when they aren’t looking to spend money on specific needs however I believe when a customer is in desperate need for a new hair product or a cleanser for their oily skin they will go out of their way to listen to your pitch and will be an easy buyer. I personally don’t like being sold to I find it stresses me out probably because I’m a poor student and can’t afford half the items I get approached with. The selling cycle exist for people who can afford items which creates the buying cycle. Depends on the the client and the economy.

I imagine that the sales cycle does still exist, whenever I walk into a Salon not necessarily I get approached into buying a product, but the moment I start to ask the selling representative a question, they start getting into the selling mode and then they start telling me what I want to hear for me to buy the product that I probably do not need. I normally research products from Salons and I check out the reviews from other consumers, but I prefer speaking to a Salon expert and getting their point of view.

After reading the article on "The Selling Cycle Does Not Exist", by Paul D'Souza, I agree with some points, and disagree with others. I agree with the fact that some people don't like having products sold to, or they're looking for a certain solution, because even for me, as a personal issue, I don't like talking to people and I want to look around, I know what products work for me and some don't. However, I do not agree with the fact that the selling cycle does not work anymore because I worked in retail for about a year and a half, and for some customers I have sold and recommend many clothes and cosmetics to someone. I just think nobody wants to socialize with others and that's the only problem.

I think "sales Circle" still do exist. Because a lot of people still get their information about certain product or item from sales medium like television advertisement or face to face marketing. Also someone might go to a shop to buy a certain known product and might end up purchasing a different or additional product from what they initially had in mind. As such, the way marketers display their products and services is a form of selling! in my opinion.

This article talked about how the regular Sales Cycle does not work in todays sales environments due to the increase of social networking usage. I do agree that nowadays people get their information mainly through the internet and other consumers rather than the sellers themselves. This can be a good way to market yourself, however it is difficult to provide consumers with the information you want them to know individually, as there will be several different opinion sources for them. I think the best way to sell is to connect with the consumers yourself and provide them with all the information and solutions to their issues and others verbally rather than them searching for it themselves.

However, all the necessary information that the buyer needed to know, such as adverse effects, possible complications and contraindications of a certain product cannot be disclosed in the articles, advertisements or paid blogs they have read beforehand due to the main reason, to promote the product. In my opinion, sales cycle still exist and should exist as it helps both the seller and the buyer exchange information, discuss concerns, answer questions and negotiate. A direct approach to client's concern and focusing on the benefits are still effective and best solutions in increasing sales.

I think to successfully sell a product the client shouldn't feel that yours selling they shouldlfeel that you are giving them a solution to their problem/concern. Instead of doing a whole presentation about why pay for the product its important to reinforce the benefits it will provide. Reflecting on what the client said regarding skin concerns and linking it with the product that will be a soution all while having a friendly discussion will create a better chance of a client purchasing. Also don't be afraid to ask a client or bring the topic of purchasing up, you never know if your client wants to buy or not withou verbal communication. Allow the client to think about what you have said allow them try the product, look at the bottle and consider the price they may pay. Careful not to overwhelm your client with information as this may discourage them from purchasing and offer a sample if you can of the product they didnt buy.

With access to so many websites and so much information online I do believe the "selling cycle" has gotten tougher. Technology has changed the cycle by giving clients access to products that they can educate themselves on, instead of going to a professional. But there will always be customers that will come in for your professional opinion because they feel that you know what is best for them and their needs, or they don't want to do the research. These kinds of customers are the ones that keep the "selling cycle" around.

Personally, I believe that while the Selling Cycle still exists with some clients, the majority of them now follow the Buying Cycle. As was stated in the article “… people do not like being sold to, but they appreciate and like buying goods and services that they need to take care of their concerns.”. With all the information being available online, customers usually know what they want before hearing our recommendations. With these clients we have to remind ourselves to “Stop Selling Start Supplying Solutions.”. However, I think the Selling Cycle is still important as not every client will be doing their own research or be able to find the answer to their problems on their own. It’s very important to know how to follow both cycles in our industry.

After Reading “ The selling Cycle Does Not Exist” Article I agree and disagree with the article. it will depend on each individual perspective. Some consumers still needs help from buying a product or want more information about it and some people look up products online and read the reviews so they will know what product they want. The selling cycle still exist today but it has been more upgraded or on trend with todays generation.

Fatima HyderAli

I do believe that the selling cycle does still exist but I also think that a lot of people know exactly what they want they they walk into a store. I have extensive retail experience and I can say that depending on what store you are working at, there are certain people who need help choosing what they want and some who don't need or want the help. I used to work at Victoria's Secret and at a store like that there were many customers who didn't know their sizes or the styles they should be wearing but at the same time, many customers had prior knowledge due to research or just experience with the company. I do think that because online shopping is so popular that customers do their research on what they want before they purchase the products. However, when a customer buys from a salon or spa, I think they rely on the input of the professionals working there to buy the best product for their needs.

I believe that the sale cycle is still exist but it is undeniable that the exact selection of products that customers want at the store is frequent. However, they may do some research about the product that they want before they come to the store. A personal example is that I always check and read many review online before i want to buy something and then go to store and check again. I think that knowing in advance the feedback when it comes to buying a product or choosing a service is essential for buyer.
