- The cost of a laser printer is much more than an inkjet.
    - Entry level black and white laser printer can cost up to £200.
    - The printer itself is expensive, and so is the cartridges.

- Only prints on certain kinds of paper, does not print on photographic      paper.   

- Can make the room they are in very hot.
    - Not suitable for hot countries because of this.

- Not portable, no battery small enough to produce enough power for a     laser printer yet.

Inkjet printer:
- The cost of the inkjet printer itself can be cheap, but the cost of the cartridges will start eventually adding up to be more than the printer itself.

- Inkjet printers can have many problems because of the ink.
     - They can become clogged from the ink in the cartridges.

SSDs are also more durable than traditional HDDs, weigh less and have lower operating costs, which justifies their higher price than HDDs- though solid state drives are becoming more and more affordable.


 Some SSDs used the same technology as the RAM installed in our computers.  This technology suffered some problems that limited its adoption, including: 
 
  • They suffered from very high cost per byte, relative to HDDs. 
 
  • They were volatile memory, and required a constant supply of power. 
  •  
    • They were, simply put, bigger.

  • Regular crashes can damage the surface of the disk, leading to loss of data 
  • Prone to read or write errors if it is moved too vigorously 
  • Has slower average speed than any form of flash memory and is about 30% slower than SSD
  • Around 30-40 seconds average bootup time compered to SSD which has a average  bootup time of 10-13 second
  • Mean time between failure rate of 1.5 million hours compared to SSD which is time between failure rate of 2.0 million hours
  • Magnets can erase data

    • In high temperature environments there is a loss of contrast.
    • It is relatively bright but not suitable for very brightly lit environments.
    • It consumes a lot of electricity which produces a lot of heat.
    • It has individual liquid crystals which cannot complete all block of the back-light.
    • From the viewing angle, the color and contrast is not consistent.
