During the Renaissance, he wrote a poem called the 'Devine Comedy'. Dante was a believer in Jesus Christ and believed he established the Catholic Church. The Devine Comedy was about the medieval afterlife and what Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory would look like. This poem was written in Italian and was extremely impactful to the people during the time of the Renaissance. It was important because people realized that idolizing Jesus Christ and devoting more time to him was a big priority in there lives. Dante impacted the Renaissance because of the way people changed their lives to devote more time to Jesus.

He was on his way home from a trip which the Pope invited him on. After his death, he got even more popular. His book, the Devine comedy has been translated over 400 times in 52 different languages! Overall, Dante Alighieri was an very important piece to to the Renaissance and influenced thousands across the world.
