My first impression of the poem after reading it was that at some point of time william blake would have had to do a job at a young age to help and support his family and that someone allowed by opening up the jail or as he mentions in the poem the coffins it also helps us know that in the time that this poem was written there was a lot of child labour and children didnt have food to eat slept on the streets
