• Chiropractors manipulate and adjust the spine and other skeletal joints to correct misalignments that cause health problems in the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. 
• A chiropractor also performs physical exams and evaluate patients' spines, postures and reflexes, analyze x-rays, counsel patients on nutrition, exercise and health care.
• Chiropractors can see 15-35 patients a day. Each patient is given a medical diagnostic treatment with chiropractic diagnostic procedures to identify forms of dysjunction. All is entered into the patient's medical record. Options are discussed with the patient. Patients are given a chiropractic treatment.

There are many undergraduate degrees, but the three in particular that offer a solid foundation for students who are pre-chiropractic are human biology, kinesiology and exercise science.

After students complete their undergraduate, they must go to Chiropractic school to earn their Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) Degree, completing four to five academic years of professional study.

A great chiropractor possesses strong communication skills, shows empathy, can focus on the patient, has passion for chiropractic and is very Knowledgeable.

Job drawbacks are that it is not suitable for people who like to follow routines and it is very hard to get into this career. Extensive skill, knowledge, and experience is required for this career. Chiropractors are not eligible for subsidized loans and loan repayment programs. Most chiropractors are small-business owners, who have responsibilities beyond their clinical work.
