My name is Tianlin Xia.

I chose the old bamboo basket. I often used it when I went to buy vegetables with my grandparent in China. I heard it was handmade from bamboo strips. I used it for about three years. Though not as convenient as plastic bags, it's reusable and quite durable. Compared to today's plastic bags, this bamboo basket embodies anti-modernism. To me, this object is a relic of a old era, symbolizing the transition to a new era. Nowadays, few people in China use such baskets for grocery shopping, plastic bags are almost universally preferred. Since plastic bags are more convenient and require no preparation, these older bamboo baskets have fallen out of common use.
