Chapter 2 takes a deep dive into the idea of nudes. It looks at how women were painted historically. These images were nudes as they were painted for the male gaze. Painting nakedness meant painting simply a woman naked. Painting a nude meant painting for the male gaze and painting a naked woman meant for fantasy, she wants you.

Chapter 5 talks about oil paintings also how paintings were meade for wealthy people. Once agiain who consumes paintings depended on the subject matter of the painying. We see many examples of apints that were seen as controversial at the times as they depict everyday life of peasants, not the grand illusion of upper class society.

Chapter 7 takes a look into the idea of reproduction and how photography was used for advertising. It deals with the idea that these photos were to fuel consumtion by depicting the perfect lifestyle. This painting is made up of various photos and collage. I loved the playfullness of Baldassari's work. I took this but made a milder form as you can see with my trip and diptyches. Baldassari's use of collage to create a story amazes me and is seriously interesting. In this image we see two different faces as well as two shadows and a yellow hand.
