This battle was important because it marked the day the war actually started and the day that Americans would fight to gain independence.

This is important because without this happening America might not have the government they have today.

This was the last major battle of the war and it lead to the Treaty of Paris which will happen in 1783. This is important because it helped with peace negotiations and it meant the war would be over soon.
