Built in the late 18th century, it is a remarkable example of Ottoman architecture and adds a touch of old eastern charm to the old town of Kavala. The mansion was the birthplace of Mehmet Ali, the founder of modern Egypt, and today it serves as a museum that shows the historical and cultural connections between Greece and Egypt.
