Many countries, including Japan, are suffering from the lack of  tourism due to COVID -19. Revenue is decreasing dramatically. However, we have to avoid infection. The current situation is too serious. 

43% of tourism workers have lost their jobs in Japan. Japan started to use hotels as a workplace and basic hospital for mildly infected people, but it is  possible that there will be an increase in the number of homelessness because of this.

In Hawaii, the unemployment rate soared to 37% in March and the number of bankruptcy filings will increase next year. From October 15th, they started to accept tourists with an app, Safe travels. 

As a solution to this problem, we will introduce a new donation program, which enables tourist sites to receive funding and users to get specialty goods in return.

Before the pandemic of COVID-19, tourism was an important industry of Japan. 

For example, 89.3% of tourists decreased in Kyoto because of COVID-19. To support their work, the Japanese government started the “Go To Travel Campaign”. 

Some companies or hotels could return to normal after the government declared a National Emergency, but others went bankrupt before the campaign started.

By researching, 84% people in Japan want to use this campaign after COVID-19 pandemic disappears.

We thought about the cases before and after a vaccine is ready. Also, we compared the advantages and the disadvantages of each case. 

Based on these, we thought about which solutions would be able to improve Japanese economy.

The most vulnerable are being strained as social services systems are exhausted during these times.  In response to this, the Philippine government, along with private and voluntary sectors, help the people get through this predicament. As soon as the lockdown took effect, the president signed into law an act that provides cash aids, subsidies, and other benefits to help the poor. Private and voluntary groups also offered their assistance during the pandemic.
          Actions should be done by both the government and citizens. The people should be aware of existing problems concerning poverty. Well-off families should share their resources as much as possible by donating, providing jobs, and other forms of help to those who lack it. It is also equally important for the government to provide concrete solutions for those below the poverty line. Policies should cater the needs of the entire population, not the middle and upper class exclusively. The government should also be more transparent with their work and their handling of the pandemic

 Given the international travel restrictions and fall in discretionary disposable incomes worldwide, tourism receipts in Nepal are projected to decline by 60 percent in 2020 resulting in a loss of foreign currency earnings worth US$400 million. Similarly, the fall in remittances is likely to range between 15 and 20 percent this fscal year. The cumulative impact of trade, tourism and remittance shocks – as well as the negative economic externalities they trigger in allied sectors ¬¬¬¬– Nepal’s projected pre-COVID-19 GDP growth rate of 8.5 percent will plunge to well below 2.5 percent in 2019-2020, and severely constrain a rebound in 2020-2021.

Nepal is lagging behind even undeveloped world when it comes to poverty. However, not all hope is lost. Efforts of volunteers and non-profit organizations also have the potential to make a big difference, especially regarding the recent economic upturn. The government should come up with holistic approach to address multi-dimensional challenges arising while dealing with this pandemic.

To my surprise  poverty impacts of Covid-19  pandemic will hit the children hard. Children are highly vulnerable to even short periods of hunger and malnutrition.

Nepal it can be surmised that nearly 10 millions children are estimated to be poor and many more are facing multidimensional poverty.
