Dear dairy,
Today,I learnt about the history of Singapore before 1819.
I searched the textbook ,internet, and went to the National Museum.I learnt that in the past, old Singapore had traded with many countries like China,India and other asian countries.
I came across 5 different sources and three of them were interesting.
I saw the gold armlet in my textbook and a blue and white porcelain stem-cups on the internet. Both of them were from the 14th century and were found in Fort Canning Hill. This tells me that Singapore had connections with India and China, and had traded with one another in the past.
Lastly,I had gone to the National Museum early this day.I found a picture of a Chinese junk.On the description,it mentioned that it was from the 18th century.I personally think that a group of Chinese traders had arrived in Singapore by the junk to trade goods.
I hope in future that i get to see more ancient items!
Will write to you soon!
