I can identify movements in the 3 planes of movement - (DOK 1)

I now know how different body planes of my body; sagittal, frontal, and transverse corporate with my day-to-day movements. While walking, I am using my sagittal plane, while doing holla-hoops i am using my transverse plane, and while I am doing jumping jacks I am using my frontal plane. I also know the medical terms of the directions and positions of the body. Instead of saying "upper body," I say superior, instead of saying "lower body," I say inferior, instead of saying "the front of the body," I say ventral, and instead of saying "the back of the body," I say dorsal.

I can list the 6 characteristics of a synovial joint - (DOK 1)

Writing down the characteristics of the joints helps me feel more confident about the synovial joints. I learn better by writing the lists, and characteristics down; that's what I would do for finals. By physically writing down notes, I remember better, and I understand better by finding patterns or creating my own patterns.

I can identify all bones of the Appendicular Skeleton - (DOK 1)

Coloring coding and labeling the different bones of arms and legs of the body on a picture helps me better remember by picturing where the bone is, but I do have a hard time identifying the bone if it is displayed on its own. So just like in the lab; I struggled naming the bones because each bone was displayed on its own without the rest of the body being around it. I am very good at identifying the bones in a picture, but not physically in real life.

I feel like the universal precautions are the most important things in regard to emergency procedures and even everyday life. If we practice the universal precautions regularly we would have less infected and more healthy people. Using universal precautions ensures the safety of the patient and the doctor.

I am so thankful that I got to learn these first aid skills, but mostly the taping. Although it is the most basic and least complicated skill of all, I did not know how to rip tape before learning this in class. I used to think that I was too weak or whatever, but there was actually a technique to ripping out tape easily and effectively and I am so thankful for learning it because now I can rip out sports tape by myself without having to ask my teammates for help:)

I am also very thankful for learning the chain of survival and CPR because if I ever encounter someone who has cardiac arrest I will not be a bystander or someone who goes on with their life. I can help as a certified person to ensure someone's safety as well as the calmness of their loved ones. I am someone who like to help others and practicing the chain of survival is another way I can help people.
