She feels bored and she explores the pink palace. She tries to find a well outside but she meets a boy outside and they introduce each other, The boy leaves and she goes inside wanting her parent's attention. When she goes inside her mother hands her a doll that the boy left for Coraline.  She finds it weird and continues to bother her mom and her dad. However, they are neglecting her so she goes and explores the house with her doll. She wakes up in the middle of the night. She is awakened by a mouse and she starts to chase the mouse out of curiosity. The mouse takes her to the little door and the mouse goes through it. Coraline opens the door and sees a crawl space to the other side. She is confused on why it looks similar to the ordinary world. She smells food and decides to go check what´s happening. She finds her mother but not her real mother. The woman claims she is Coraline´s other mother and that everyone has second parents. Since Coraline´s mom looks similar to her but just has buttons she believes the mother. She goes to fetch her other father as her mother asked her to get him for supper. Coraline meets her other father and the father plays a special song for her. After that they go back to the dining room and start eating. Coraline likes the food from the new world. She then gets a cake that says welcome and she questions it but she goes to bed. Her other parents tuck her in and Coraline falls asleep. Coraline loves the new world. Coraline wakes up in the ordinary world again. During breakfast with her real parents, she tells her parent's about the new world she went to. She swears she wasn't dreaming but her parents believe that she was just dreaming and that none of it is real. He then appears and has a conversation with her about how his mice can't keep up with the music he plays. Coraline then leaves but the Bobinsky comes back down and says that the jumping mice told him to give her a message. He says that the mice say not to go through the little door. However, Coraline says it's bricked up so Bobinsky says never mind. Coraline goes on finds a hat and goes downstairs to Ms. Spink and Forcible. Ms. Spink tells Coraline she will see her future after she drinks the tea she received from them. After Coraline drinks some of the tea she lends her teacup to Ms. Spink. She tells Coraline she is in terrible danger and that she sees a hand. However Ms. Forcible says that she is fine and that it is a giraffe. Coraline finds it weird and leaves. She then finds Wybie by the pink palace stalking her. She sees the cat afraid to touch the wet ground and has a conversation with Wybie the boy she met when she moved in. She says that he doesn't listen to her like her parents. Wybie says that his Grandma had a twin sister who got stolen in the pink palace that he is not allowed to go in there. The other mother says Bobinsky has invited her to see his show and tells her to run along with her friend Wybie. A different Wybie in the new world who can't talk. She goes and watches the circus mice perform after that she goes back and sleeps. Coraline wakes up back to the ordinary world but she goes to check the little door and it is locked. Her mother locked it since she found the mice. She states that it is to keep Coraline safe. Coraline is upset and her mother takes her to the uniform store. She sees these new gloves she wants but her mother says to put them back. She is upset and they soon get home. Her mother asks if she wants to go to the store and she could pick out what she wants, She wants the gloves but her mother can't get them she says no and goes to find the key to unlock the little door, when she opens it she goes through the other world again. She sees the new clothes her mother had bought she puts them on and goes to see Ms. Spink and Forcible's show with Wybie. When she steps outside she sees the cat and says that it is the other cat, however, the cat talks and says it isn't another cat and that he's himself. Coraline says the other mother is amazing but the cat says that she thinks this world is a dream come true but she is wrong. The cat leaves and Coraline goes to watch the show with Wybie. After she watches the show her parents take her to the table to give her a gift, She opened it and was scared to see buttons. She other mother says if she wants to stay there forever that she will sew buttons on her eyes. She is still stuck in the "dream" world. She goes out of her room to find out what's happening, she finds the door shut locked to the living room and instead talks to the other father. The father gives no information so Coraline decides to try to run away from the palace. The cat follows her and they talk. the cat was testing Coraline to see if she would believe him or the other mother. She ends up back in the pink palace. She decides to break in the living room. Once she breaks in she finds the door open. She tries to go to it but gets pulled away by a chair. She tells the other mother she wants to go to the ordinary world with her real parents. But the mother insists and tells her to apologize for being rude, Coraline disobeys and gets put behind a mirror. She then talks to ghost children and they tell her to find their eyes and their souls will be free since the other mother (Beldam) trapped them. That if she is trying to get out to be clever. she then gets pulled out by Wybie. Her allies are the Ghost children they are giving her advice on the situation. Wybie is her Allie taking her out and helping her escape. Coraline gets to the little door and Wybie pushes her so that she can leave. Coraline feels bad but leaves. It is time for bed she makes her parents out of pillows crying until the cat comes and shows her that the other mother trapped her parents. She sees her parents in the mirror needing help. She grabs her items and the cat and heads to the other world to save her parents. The cat tells her that Beldam has a thing for games. Once she gets there she thinks her real mom is calling her but it is Beldam. Beldam swallows the key so now it is impossible to escape without a key. She goes to the kitchen and asks Beldam to play a game. Coraline must find the eyes before time runs out. Her first obstacle is the garden she must get one of the ghost's eyes that the other father has in his hand. Coraline gets attacked by the plants but manages to make it out of the garden and have the ghost's eye. She now has to go find the other eye. She uses the candy to find the eye. She gets the hang of how she has to complete the obstacles. She then goes to Spink and Forcible and tries to get the other eye. Though they are tied and difficult. She throws a flashlight at the bat to get the eye from their hands. Once she gets the eye she moves to the last eye. She has to go to Bobinsky the last obstacle for now. She has to figure out where the eye is she sees the eye on the hat but it is hard to get since the mice are too strong. They kick her out and throw her things out the window. She then collapses and falls to the ground. She was unsuccessful at getting the eye and ran out of time. But Coraline says no and throws the cat on her face to scratch her eyes off. Beldam releases her web throwing Coraline at the bottom. Coraline has to climb the web and makes it to the door. Beldam is trying to open the door but the ghost children help Coraline close the door. She locks the door and makes it to the Ordinary world. She now has her parents back and her mom gives her the gloves she wanted. Coraline gets up grabs a blanket and heads out to get rid of the key. But Beldam's hand makes it through the little door and follows Coraline to get the key. Coraline takes the key out and Beldam's hand attacks her to get the key. But then Wybie appears and helps Coraline. Beldam almost throws Wybie down the deep well but Coraline grabs her hand. At last, Wybie smashes her hand and they wrap the key around the big rock and throw it down the well. Wybie apologizes to Coraline for calling her crazy. The next day Coraline is having a good day watching her parents and neighbors garden. Wybie's grandma comes over and Coraline wants to discuss something with her.
