Tony Stark is the greatest mind in the universe. His technological inventions are second to no one. He "Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string." "There comes a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance" therefore Tony doesn't envy anyone, he is knows that he doesn't need something that someone else has. All he needs is his brain power. He truly trust his life in no one's hands but his own. "Imitation n is suicide" and Tony mimics no one, he is an original.

Song connection

The song "Remember the Name" has specific lyrics that are parallel to the text."He feels so unlike everybody else, alone." This connects to the text by showing that when one is self reliant, he or she feels as if they are separate from society and on their own. "Never asking for someone's help, or to get some respect
He's only focused on what he wrote; his will is beyond reach
And now it all unfolds, the skill of an artist" Some one who is misunderstood does not need the approval of society or their respect. All they need is their passion to keep them going and to find their calling. Which is both expressed in the song a passage.

Ulysses S. Grant

When Ulysses was growing up, he was frond upon due to his "low" intelligence. He was very shy and timid. Many of his peers and teachers categorized him as stupid. He was called Useless instead of Ulysses for a period of time. Turns out Ulysses ended up being a Civil War hero and the 18th president of the United States. A national hero who will always be remembered even though he was misunderstood at an early stage.

Emerson's Appeals

Emerson appeals to the reader's logical side by explaining a situation that every man must encounter in his life. Emerson believes "There comes a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance." The reader can easily understand the message that the author is trying to get across. This emphasizes the message that every man has a decision to make when confronted with the problem of how they choose their future paths.. Emerson also connects to the reader's emotional side when he talks on how people should respond to the situation. "Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string." He is explaining that every person has their own unique talent, just have to trust the natural process of finding that talent, even if the process is a difficult one. Lastly Emerson shows his credibility as an author. He does this by presenting many real world examples that directly apply to the message he is saying. "Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and even Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh." All these names convey the sense that Emerson is a well educated man since all of these examples correlate with his message that all great people were once turned away by society. And all these people had the process of finding their "iron string." Once they did greatness shortly followed.
