The pieces they performed were Symphony No. 2: The Age of Anxiety composed by Leonard Bernstein and Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major composed by Sergei Prokofiev. I truly enjoyed listening to each piece and really feeling the story come to life as I just close my eyes and listen. The Winspear was such a beautiful venue with the huge organ in the background, although it wasn't played it was still a very nice touch to have in the space. I think having the program notes and reading them before the concert started made it more enjoyable because I could just sit back and listen with some prior knowledge instead of just listening to the performances blindly. I took my friend Charlene with me and she was shocked at all of the different instruments playing their own parts but still managing to stay in sync with the rest of the orchestra. 
The two-pieces that they performed were somewhat similar with the background story but were executed differently. The first work was all over the place and it would switch between the piano being the star and then the clarinet with their softer opening parts being the main parts. The second piece was more melodic and calming, there wasn't a lot of back and forth with the different instruments. I really liked going to see this performance and I plan on going to more.
