I had lots of friends at my private school. And by lots I mean everyone, well I thought. I was a very likable kid because not only was I going to that school since I was 2 but also because I treated everyone like a family. We were like a family because we saw each other almost everyday even during the summer when the school hosted fun events. Anyway, when I was in Kindergarden a girl named Natalie was enrolled in the school. She had a short bob cut with straight bangs and thick orange hair. She was shy during the first year of her school year there but she later came out of her shell when I befriended her. Around 2end or 3rd grade things started to get weird. Natalie came to school acting and dressing like me. Now this is a private school so we did have uniforms but the girls had a lot more uniform options than the boys. Natalie wore a White collared buttoned uniform shirt with the darkest color of navy blue dress and a red girls tie. I wore a White collared buttoned down uniform shirt with a navy blue shirt pulled over my belly button but it was at an acceptable height every day. Natalie came to school in the exact same clothes I wore. I thought something happened to her regular uniform so I shook it off but she to school in my usual outfit and I knew she was jealous of me but when I asked her about it she thought I was being rude. A few weeks later, I noticed she was acting very mean towards everyone except me. I'm guessing she thought I was "the popular girl" cause of the respect I got from everyone. Natalie started complaining to me about how little friends she had, how much nobody liked her, ect... I told her that respect and friendship takes time to build and because how badly she treated everyone, I wasn't sure if everyone wanted to be her friend except for me. I kinda felt bad but at the same time she forced people to like her. Eventually, I had to stop being her friend because she started being rude to me and my bestfriend Nicholai.

How does this relate to my theme?

Being nice is probably one of the most classic themes in the history of themes but it's one of the most important themes. Natalie however didn't really understand that even though I tried to explain it one hundred times. The story I told was one of the many stories I have in memory. Natalie just wanted friends but she forced people to become her friend instead of asking if she can be their friend. The story I told related to the fact that she tried to imitate me to force people to be friends with her. But that just resulted to her being rude to some of my closest friends and eventually her being rude to me. She lacked kindness which people at that school did not like. And that doesn't mean you need to care about what people think of you but that does mean that because she lacked kindness, she was inconsiderate about everyone else's feelings.

There was this girl at my private school that only came for about 2 years. Her name was Lainey. She had brown wavy hair. We weren't really close but we did hang out here and there and every time we hung out she acted inconsiderate of everyone around her. She was very inconsiderate about everyone else's thoughts. She was also very selfish. She always wanted everything she saw that she liked and if she didn't get it then she made a huge deal about it. This was the reason she had very few friends, because she wasn't kind.

How does this relate to the theme?

This experience shows how Lainey had to learn that selfishness doesn't bring her everything to her desire. It shows her desire for friends never came to her so when she acted even more inconsiderate towards others, she had more and more trouble making friends and an easier time losing them. The kindness she thought she was showing just pushed each friend relationship further and further till she couldn't reach anymore. But she taught me a lesson, selfishness doesn't grow your relationships; it just damages them till there's nothing left.

In my first year of public school, I always felt like and outcast because of how I dressed, acted, wrote, and even my age and height. I dressed so childish because I was only 8 or 9 when I started 5th grade. Starting school at 2 years of age never helped my social interactions with other kids. The teachers would get angry with me because I wrote in cursive and they couldn't understand it. But that's beside the point. I made a decent amount of friends but not many. There was one girl in particular I friends with named Pavani. She was sweet to me for the first few months of the school year then she started acting strange. One day, I was in front of the recess line. Then out of nowhere, Pavani comes in and pushes into the lockers and takes my place at the front of the line. I did not appreciate that so when I confronted her about it and told her how I felt about the situation she said I cut the line and I know for a fact I didn't. Long story short I didn't want to force her to apologize but she told me she wasn't going to apologize so I told her I didn't want to be friends anymore and eventually found out she treated my other friends with disrespect. I also found out she "pranked" my friend on april fools and told my friend she was pretty then said April Fools which had me so angry she had the audacity to say something so cruel.

How does this relate to the theme?

She wasn't kind when she shoved me into the lockers and cut me in front of the recess line nor was she kind when she "pranked my friend. I didn't know much about her which is one of the reasons I befriended her. But the way she treated me and my friends was unacceptable. Fortunately, I learned the mistakes of befriending people who lack kindness. Another reason I befriended her was because I knew she didn't have friends. My friends told me she was rude but I didn't listen and I ended up being shoved into the lockers.
