During the school year, students were excited to learn about monologues. Scholars received the opportunity to read pre-written monologues and also got the chance to create their own and build scenes around them for other fellow classmates to execute. I believed this boosted their creative ability along with their leadership skills.

Scholars were most intrigued when they got the opportunity to act out dialogues. We went over this segment after monologues so being able to perform with other individuals in the class was fairly easy for them which made it fun. They thought the dialogues selected were funny and enjoyed executing them.

The writing process was the most lengthy and draining for the kids yet most rewarding at the end. They ran into writers block and moments when they thought they wouldn't be able to finish it through. However, with a little encouragement they were able to produce great, interesting and entertaining stories.

Performance skills was taught all during the semester through games that required students to present a specific word, line or motion in-front of the class. in addition students received the opportunity to execute several different monologues and dialogues. The final performance that the student-actors build up to is held at the end of each semester. Scholars learned that performance adequacy didn't stop on stage but also consist of the way individuals behave as a audience member aswell. This includes no talking, technology is w/o sound, as little movement as possible to avoid distracting individuals performing and knowing when to laugh, clap and participate.
