How To Build A Pinhole Camera: Step by Step Instructions

1. Take one of the wood pieces and find the middle point by drawing a cross and pinpointing the middle.
2. Place the piece on top of on an older wood piece so that no table tops are ruined. Then drill a hole in the center. This is now your lens.
3. Using the hot glue gun stick the 4 remaining pieces of wood together. One used as a base and the other four as sides, making sure the one hole is at the front.
4. Gaffer tape any places that light might pass through such as the edges once the glue has cooled.
5. Cut a small piece of black aluminium foil, it must be big enough to cover the lens. And just like before find the middle and prick a small hole using a pin.
6. Tape it in front of the lens, but leaving space on the right side for a slider.
7. The slider can be made by cutting a thin and long strip of black paper which will be fed into the small space between the foil and wood. It will act as a shutter which can be open and shut so that the camera is not constantly exposed to light.
8. The lid can be made according to personal desires. I personally made mine by taping a long piece of felt to the back of the box and draping it over; securing it with elastic.
9. Now you just tape light sensitive paper to the back of the box using masking tape and the camera is ready to be used. Remember that this must be done in the dark.

it is a simple camera that can be made from just about anything that is light proof. It doesn't require a lens, just a small pinhole which acts as the aperture.
Light enters through the small hole and is projected onto light sensitive paper placed at the back of the camera.

This was due to change of location and light
- Camera shake occurred due to the camera not being placed on a stable surface.
