Sometimes. Here in New England, the weather does whatever it wants. For example, in November earlier this year, it was about 70 degrees out. It is currently the 17th and it's about 40 degrees. That's a huge difference, but it's not always like this, so "sometimes" feels like an accurate answer. This can be because maybe a lot of things change like cloud cover precipitation, the way the Earth faces the sun, etc. All these factors contribute to the temp and if they all change overnight then the temp can change drastically.

yes during different seasons the temperature is very different but over the years it isn't always consistent, global warming/climate change is most likely the cause of the temperature increasing and not as cold and freezing weather than it use to be like.

its all about the tilt of the earths axis, people believe the cause is because the earth is tilted further away from the sun but in January the sun is closest to the sun, and in July the sun is furthest from the sun. For example when the south pole tilts toward the sun it is winter in the Northern Hemisphere, and when the north pole tilts toward the sun it is summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

The earth's tilted axis is the reason why the earth warms up in the summer and cool down in the winter. Many people mistakenly think that the reason why it is hottest in the summer is because the earth is closest to the sun in the summer, but that is incorrect. The earth is actually farthest from the sun in July and closest in January. In the summer, the sun's rays hit the earth at a steeper angle, meaning that the light doesn't spread out as much and the amount of energy is more focused (on any area). In the winter, the sun's rays are more shallow and more spread out. Resulting in the amount of energy that hits any area, reduced/minimized.
