The side effects associated with prescription drug use were much worse compared to use of Cannabis.

This week I discovered an organization called the Body Positive Movement that focusses on the abuses of power in our culture because of how we look—including racism—and to reach a place of "doing" to transform our relationship to ourselves and others.  When we start seeing the inherit beauty of every person, it becomes harder to discriminate. This movement started a huge discussion in our Senior group. How visual "impressions" have created vast chasms in our society and how we can focus on the essence of a person.

My group has been committed to educating ourselves on the real facts of racism that exist in healthcare, whether that be racial, ethnic, age, or social standing.  This TED interview with Linda Villarosa, renowned writer for the New York Times Magazine, provided such insight to centuries-old preconceived ideas and theories.
