At the same time, at this level we interpret certain behaviors as disrespectful, offensive, or hostile. Social violation of norms at this level can cause mistrust, distress, or social friction." To me, this means that I better know enough about the cultures in my classroom that I don't cause them to close themselves off from me before I've even begun. I don't want a student in my class to feel unsafe.</div>]]></description>
