I learned many things about Shay's Rebellion and the Northwest Ordinance. To illustrate, when people started to rebel nobody could stop them because they didn't have a real military. After the about almost a year of rebellion Massachusetts sent Militia troops to restore order. Also, the Northwest Ordinance was a very important part of the growth of the United States. It helped pare a new way for new settlements which expanded our nation and strengthened our power.

I learned about when are nation first started It had major problems. Which cause people to rebel mostly farmers. How this started was when the government was able to make coins but, lacked any material to mint them. Which when the tax collectors came to collect the money The government didn't now about the money but yet the taxed them. If they did not have the money the would got to court or be thrown in jail. One man could not bare to see people who had fought in the american revolution so he gather farmers and put together a list of thing that they wanted they did the right way but, they were ignored. So then they created an arm. The Northwest Ordinance were laws to make new state In the new Territory and new laws. It help people to get use to new states.

They had a riot, but the US couldn't do anything to stop them. They knew they needed a real military. The Northwest Ordinance made t so new states could join the union. It also made it so there was religious freedom, trial by jury, and no slavery.

I learned a lot about Shay's Rebellion and the Northwest Ordinance. The currency was worth almost nothing and the states were taxing farmers. Farmers were suffering from starvation just because they didn't have any money left after taxes. Daniel Shays was a rebel from Massachusetts. The government was very weak especially the central government. They were so poor too that they would ask the states to give them money and the states wouldn't always give them money. The northwest ordinance was a document that proposed 3 to 5 states above the Ohio river and East of the Mississippi river

There are many things I learned from Shay's rebellion and the Northwest Ordinance. Many farmers would have to pay many taxes for the state government and if they couldn't pay them they would go to jail. They would also have their farms and houses taken away and be left with nothing. The congress/ country couldn't help the farmers or the states because they had no army to fight back or protect themselves. The central government was very weak and poor. They made the central government weak because they were afraid of having another king or a over powerful government. They had only one branch and that was the congress. The congress had no money because they didn't have the ability to tax, so they had to ask the states for money and for the most part they wouldn't give them money. For the Northwest Ordinance they made many laws to make states in the new territory they had to be no less and three states and no more than 5. To ask to become a state the territory would have to get over 6,000 people. There would be no slavery in the new states and have no involuntary servitude.

Many farmers were getting angry including Daniel Shays who started a rebellion and since the government didn't have an army they had no army to fight back. The Northwest Ordinance had rights such as freedom of religion, trial by jury and no slavery.

I learned that when the U.S. was first founded it had a bad constitution. One of the issues was that there was a constant issue in dept that ended up in people loosing their land. Those people revolted and attacked state houses. The rebellion, known as Shay's rebellion, was defeated but left it's mark. A few years later a senate leader made a law for dept relief. The Northwest ordinance allowed the US to expand because It stated that there would be many opportunities for the settlers. This included no slavery and the original rights of American's. It also established that the natives would have the same rights and their lands would not be invaded. This ensured a good relationship with the natives.
