Parents can reinforce these skills at home.

Not every student has access to technology at home

Disagree with Mr. Jennings:

Technology should be used to enhance learning, not just to use it for the sake of using it

There is new technology. Why should students learn a technology that might not be around in 1- 10 years when they enter the work force?

The overall consensus of the group is that we don't stop teaching them.

Technology is moving fast and there will always be something new

There must be an ongoing reinforcement in the use of up to date tools

Focus our teaching on applying the student's skills to become efficient, reliable, creative, collaborative and accountable members of a digital community

Looking at the ISTE standards we were reminded that the standards are not meant to be mastered at a specific time. Instead, they are meant to be taught constantly and throughout all grade levels

Do we consider ourselves digitally literate?

Chris: Doesn't think anyone can be fully digitally literate because technology is always changing. However, people can have a good understanding of the skills. He understands the importance of a digital footprint and the impact it can have. He can also use technology in a variety of effective ways.
Taylor: Considers to be digitally literate but not 100%, because there is always going to be something new to learn. Taylor is able to create, communicate, and using critical thinking skills while using technology.
Stacie: Considers herself digitally literate because of the progression on learning that is happening. She can communicate, create, contribute, and accommodate with fluency for her community of learners and followers.
Greg: Feels daunted by the idea of being digitally literate, because there are new technologies every time he turns on a machine. He wants to feel a sense of comfort and understanding while using technology
