Here are some things I do with my K/1 students to get them started on their iPads and specifically Seesaw:
I show them how to hit the “home” button twice then swipe away all the open items before turning their device off.
I show them how to organize their iPad when plugging in, unplugging, and storing their device. Latest fix: they have to start plugging the iPads back in themselves...but I needed to teach them to follow their cord from the beginning to keep them all from tangling!
I teach the Seesaw tools explicitly at the beginning of the year, and throughout the year as new tools are needed.

I use Nearpod as my final assessment tool during my self-paced lessons with students (I teach World History to 9th graders for context). I love using it because I can do a lot of simple accommodations without a ton of work. One example of adaptions that are easy is that you can toggle on the student audio responses. I really like this because it is an easy way to support my students who are still building their writing skills. I also really like the Draw It! feature because it is an easy way to build a digital one-pager into a final check-in. I typically use the student-paced lesson so my students can complete it at their own pace and not feel rushed. I just launched a Nearpod assessment for my current self-paced unit to do a general check-in after all the activities are completed by students.

Studying Greek and Latin Roots:

Write root words on all the spaces.
Students will then take turns rolling a die or spinning a spinner and moving a token around the board.
When a student lands on a space, they’ll read the root word and then provide the definition.
If they are correct, they will remain on the space. If they are wrong, they’ll go back to their previous location.
The first student to get to the end of the game wins!

Identifying Tech Supports
Three Actions Teachers Can Take:

1. Educating themselves about the various extensions and features on Chrome/Windows. There are so many shortcuts or additions I didn't realize existed that I can share with students who need extra support, especially regarding reading and writing.

2. Using the Reflect feature on Teams gives students a chance to check in privately and is a helpful tool for teachers to quickly assess frustrations or success.

3. Taking time to get to know their learners as individuals who all may need different supports or challenges. Knowing your students is the most important part of accessibility, because you can start meeting students where they are!

I haven't used it in a while, but experiencing the student side was a great refresher and motivation to start using it again in the library. I found a great Flip On-Demand Topic I linked to Seesaw for my First-Gators. It's a video about manatees where the keeper shares animal facts in front of the Florida exhibit. I think this will be a fun way to begin our research about animals by watching the video, then taking notes about the manatee in a Canva template I added to the Seesaw assignment. Ugh! I was highly frustrated and disappointed with this one! I thought it might be fun to import the district's decoding routine and add/change some slides. I have only watched Flip videos I have never made one but I can see how recording lessons so students can rewatch them or allow them to record their own work can be a wonderful tool in learning. This page may have been one of my favorite reads yet. I love the idea of using something like quizizz to have the students do reviews on topics that they need to learn. The video used vocabulary as an example, however I think I would like to do parts of speech. Then have the students review and do it again, and then to do it each day till they are able to get 95% or better.

The idea of revising student work by with a recorded message is not something I had ever thought of. This could give the students who are struggling readers an opportunity to better understand instruction and corrections.

I am going to add the 3-2-1 reflection page, it is saved, and I can’t wait to start implementing this as an exit ticket. Another tool that I will be adding is the TAG. Like I said this page was fantastic and gave me several ideas and resources for my teacher toolbox.

I used Flipgrid (now Flip) in the past, but I haven't used it in quite some time! I want to use Flip on a project this month with my students, so I am trying to brush up and learn the new system. I have never thought about using Seesaw during a whole group lesson, but after watching some of the videos I think I will try this out instead of a whiteboard activity! I plan to try this out with a math Application Problem as students draw, label, and write a statement to explain their thinking. Next they could add their voice to explain their thinking on the drawing.

It was good to hear and read other people's ideas and experiences with Nearpod in their elementary classroom. It has been a little while since I've used it, but hearing some new features and seeing activities that I haven't used yet, like the "Time to Climb" encouraged me to find a way to use it in the near future. Hearing other people's positive experiences using the Sub Plans, or just leaving Nearpods for lessons with a sub was also a great piece that I'll have to remember!

I found "Kindergarten Five Senses Hyperdoc" and "Trifold Brochure Template". The trifold I'm thinking I can use with my 4th and 5th graders for their upcoming research projects. The Kindergarten hyperdoc looks engaging, but also made me hesitate because I don't think our Kinders know how to use their iPads well. I'm not sure how much primary grades use them. This makes it difficult for me to utilize them when they come to me for library once a week, but I also think it would be interesting to try the hyperdoc now and teach them as we go. Then, maybe in May try the exact same hyperdoc and see the difference in their ability to navigate.

I hadn't heard of My Maps before. At first I thought it'd only be something that my 4th and 5th graders could try and tackle, but at the end of the presentation the idea is shared of creating one whole class as the teacher creates it, but the students share ideas. I was excited to learn a new feature: frames, which is a great easy button to build in a frame for students to record audio, take a picture, etc, without them having to move it, make it smaller or bigger.

There are so many resources. I love that there are so many read aloud book topics to choose from in the Discovery area. I plan to do a deeper browse for books in my reading curriculum already to see how I can integrate Flip topics with the unit! The events are amazing, set up for browsing all or your specific grade level or subject. I appreciate that there are live and on-demand events. I thought the one on manatees was interesting as a Kansan, since we aren't able to see these naturally or even in our own zoo. I can see these as jump off lessons for doing research.

Seesaw I think will give me one place to go to make certain lessons, where I won't have to link or use several outside apps and sources. Seven Keys to Effective Feedback:
Reading the article, I had a few reflections. One good reflection is that I am doing much better with feedback now that I am doing self-paced learning. I have more time to pull students and work with them one on one, so the time is more meaningful. One thing I need to do better with is the actionable category. We get caught up in saying "this is good" but we don't say why. With SRG, I need to do better at giving actionable feedback because I tend to go with the more generic pieces of advice, rather than feedback.

I read this article yesterday and thought about it as I worked today. I tried to watch what I do doing individual work time. I think I do really well with whole-class feedback, but I struggle a bit to find time to give everyone feedback. I liked the triage description: picking one thing and focusing on it first so that the learner and the teacher are not overwhelmed by the list of growth. It also saves time and allows you to float. I think I could do this with students: pick a topic each day that I will give feedback on. For example, one day I may do feedback on details in writing. On another day I may do paragraph formation. Gives me a specific goal to watch for each time I have learners in my classroom.

I like how this article got me thinking of different ways to gamify things that we are learning about in the classroom. It definitely would engage the students and get them excited about their learning. They love a fun challenge! I also like how it said failure helps them learn. I’ve noticed when students fail in a game, it seems easier for them to keep trying. Sometimes, when they struggle in class, they don’t want to keep trying-they just give up. Common Sense is a big part of my coding curriculum! I love the way it ties in virtual safety and digital citizenship with emotional wellbeing. The elementary lessons are so engaging and the kids are able to truly reflect on the content and make relevant connections. The games are also really cute. My 2nd and 3rd graders played the digital passport earlier this week to work on password protection. By the end, they came up with better passwords than many adults I know!

SeeSaw is such a fun and simple way to connect families! It lets them see their students work, comment on it, talk with teachers, etc. The biggest challenge is simply getting them to download the app and sign in. Though I have used Nearpod since the pandemic and continue to use it, it was nice to see how some of the features that I have never used work, such as the time to climb or the 3D. Nearpod is great for pre-assessments, quick assessment during a lesson or even a end of unit assessment. Also great for emergency subplans and for make-up work if students need to make up missing assignments. I look forward to continuing to tweak lessons with Nearpod and find more and more engaging uses for it.

Students are joining social media younger and younger. Many of the 8 and 9 year olds in my classroom are already on Twitter and play multi player games. It is important to stress to them the importance of cyber security. I saw many different lessons that I could use to reinforce proper online etiquette. I'm really like the lesson on The Power of Words. They struggle with using correct words in the classroom therefore I'm sure they are also doing it online.

This would be a great anchor chart to keep visible for a unit with new academic vocabulary. Google My Maps looks like a great way to get primary students introduced to geography beyond our map posters! I was excited to see the Animal Habitat example to get me started with trying this out whole group, as I think it would be a bit much with my class. I was not allowed access to Google My Maps, even when I went to Google through Rapid ID, so if I can't figure it out, I could still show specific places using Google Maps and Google Earth.

I would like to try spellodrome, does anyone know if this is something the district pays for? I want to utilize the talk to text, and I would like to add live subtitles to my powerpoints. I know the students eyes would be drawn to the words (which I do want), but I am worried it could also be too distracting that they would miss the content. I think it is important to teach children about media and how to use it. I really like how there are lessons, slide shows, videos, and activities that the students can do. It make planning the lessons easy and convenient when everything is right there. I am going to start using this with my students. One of my a-has from this session came when I was watching the video about incorporating Seesaw into learning centers. I would like my student to start using Seesaw to explain their thinking during learning centers. They could use the camera tool to take a picture of something they built, drew, or created, then use the microphone to make a recording about what they did. I think this would be something easy for my students to start doing, even at the PreK level. This may even help more families want to connect if their child comes home and tells them they want to show them the post they made in Seesaw that day.

I love the citation feature on this! The bonus is that I can use this as a resource for my lower readers and especially the ELL group on my room. Our research unit is coming up quickly and I’m going to utilize this site with my students. The Pebble Go webinar was very informative. I learned a lot of tips on how to guide students on finding information. The site is very user friendly. The different options of Pebble Go, Next and Ebooks. I love the read option for students that need that option as well as the Spanish version. The teacher resource is another great feature. I have only seen Flip a few times and with this session I saw that I knew almost nothing about its possiblities. There are a lot of ways Flip allows the student to add their own personalities and unique spin to their assignments. I also thought that the custom group links make a lot of sence, I can add items to either their Google classroom or Teams rooms.

The Smart/Lumio Shift webinars were full of valuable reminders of teaching our kids to think about our content using their own background knowledge, experiences, and culture. Students have a better "buy-in" when we can help them see a connection and relevance to their life. The presenter walked us through a science lesson using Lumio to show how she makes them culturally relevant and responsive. I especially liked the Feelings Meter to begin teaching new content to gauge where students fall on their background knowledge and interest level. She used this to help her group students together to help them all learn. I also liked that she began the lesson with a WHY the content matters, especially if it's something not all kids are interested in, but it's required learning.

With the Lumio Engage topic, there are several videos that are quick tutorials to help get you started with an engagement tool for any lesson. There was a great range of ideas that fit primary up to high school students! As frustrating as Lumio has been for me so far, I think I might be able to start small with a whole group whiteboard lesson as a brainstorming of ways to be kind in school and home to support our SEL lessons and build our classroom community. It had been a while since I made my own Nearpod from scratch, and it was perfect time with a coding lesson on sequence and loops with 3rd-5th this week (link above). I included several different types of interactive activities and they got to see PebbleGo for the first time, and watch a Flocabulary video through Nearpod. They have seemed to enjoy it and stay engaged during library this week, although I would go back in next time and change some of the Flocabulary questions, as some were too difficult for their background knowledge thus far.

EdPuzzle seems to offer up an alternative to NearPod. It is just another tool to have to help with various types of learning and assessment. This is one that other than seeing a few colleagues use, that I am unfamiliar with. I look forward to using it. It appears that it would be a great way to show the Crash Course Videos we use in Sociology and instead of having students record notes or take a Microsoft quiz afterwards, there can be checks for understanding along the way. I also look forward to using the editing tool and getting rid of some of the parts of these videos that do not apply to our class.

I have not used EdPuzzle with students before. It seems pretty simple to use, teacher friendly and student friendly. I love all the options to make it relevant and meaningful for your class and lesson, settings you can change, and the ways students can respond. I also like the feature where you can see one student's grades/assignments all at one time.

I use Seesaw daily in all subject areas. This challenge was a great reminder to check my settings and make sure that I had family access set up. I was able to see some parents were added and others needed a reminder. I went into Syngergy and sent out a new email to remind parents and gave them the handout on how to sign up. I created a Quizziz that contained academic vocabulary that was related to test taking and every day for 7 days we started class with that Quizziz as bell work and tracked their % of correct responses. Each day the students made improvements and the biggest improvement came from my lowest readers. We made inferences based on those findings and many of them decided that having the vocabulary in front of them each day made a difference to them.

Wrapping up the Edpuzzle Coach course, one of my favorite features is being able to not only add comprehension checks throughout a video, but adding in additional links to other relevant resources for students to deepen their learning. As librarian, I will be sharing this information with my staff and all the benefits of integrating Edpuzzle into their lessons. There are a ton of pre-made templates for education that are completely customizable. You can upload and update any True Type font that you want into the already large database of fonts. Building Background Webinar
In this webinar, we were given research results on comprehension levels with building background and without background knowledge. The results were amazing! It showed that even low achieving readers scored better when they had prior knowledge of a concept. Then we were shown some of the different activities built into BrainPop that could be used with students to help them build background with a new concept. One of my takeaways was trying out the Word Play feature to build vocabulary background before viewing the video lesson.

I just did the "Purse the Common Sense Website" activity. It was simple to set up an account and easy to navigate the website. If you have never checked it out, I would recommend it.

The lessons look pretty easy to deliver to students and everything you need is listed and easy to download or display.

My students just finished reading "The World According to Humphrey," in Journeys and it is about a hamster who unplugs a family's TV because it is too noisy. The family learned to do things other than using media and had fun. I think the 4th grade "My Media Choices" will be a perfect fit for a follow up lesson for my students. I just may do it next week since we have a "no PD" day and will have a longer period of time to do a lesson.

I combined a character traits video clip from Discovery Ed, the field trip we took to WAM, and a Adobe Design assignment. At Wichita Art Museum they have 2 amazing galleries set up with historical clothing. When you go on the trip as a school, the students get to see all the clothing (historical from Wichita) and a display of Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art from Paper (this is amazing and you should go see it!). We then create a fashion "icon" out of magnetic clippings of clothing and fill in a graphic organizer where students determine a name, age, place of residence, and event that their character is attending- then present it to the group. When we returned to school, we then created a cartoon strip with the character and they had to create a "Day in the Life" of that character they created. They loved the three things together and were truly engaged.

Folders: Seesaw seems like a great way to be able to communicate with families and show those families how they're doing at school. Being able to review work by the folder would be a great thing to have at conferences to show their adults growth in a skill over time.
Three Dots: With students I usually refer to these as the snowman- knowing those three dots house most of the tools within an application creates a background knowledge that can carry from one application to the next. I could see our elementary school teachers and students using them in centers so that they would have access to show families work, complete work and organize assignments.
Independent Practice Time: Seeing how SeeSaw works reminds me of an advanced version of Kami for Google, but without an additional cost for the teacher. I like that as a teacher I could pick and choose what modifications/adaptions I would need for a student that may need more help. Having students stay connected even if they are not there could be an amazing advantage for those that need to stay home for longer periods of time.

Josh showed some great ideas on how to use my maps with any subject. I can use my maps when plotting college towns around the United States and converting the miles we walk as a school during recess and traveling from college city to college city. Or places around the world. I think if we were teaching a certain skill we could find places around the world that play that sport. Or see how far parks or certain places are from their home like a disc golf course, or baseball field.

Making my way through the online course I had a few thoughts. 1. We need to figure out how to get more secondary teachers involved in this process of learning what else is out there for us within the district
2. somehow we need to create more equity from building to building and primary to secondary when it comes to applications that are open to us.
3. My sister-in-law taught the MSR kindergarten class in the 2020-2021 school year and I cannot believe that she was able to teach at all! Watching this instructor go through this process with adults blows my mind that she was able to get anything from her students.

The opening turn and talk really made me start thinking about the technology use in the classroom... am I using it as a quality time of learning or a filler?
SeeSaw seems easy for the students to use and access. Watching my own sons use it during remote school was interesting, now that I've seen the back side of the program I see how great it was for the teachers as well. I liked that Josh asked about the introduction for students to figure out how to use the application... Sometimes I fail to keep that learning curve in mind when I am using new/other technology applications with students.
I think having some access to this as a secondary teacher would be nice. I feel like many of the things she was showing we have similar things, but not all in one spot.

Virtual field trips are a great way to bring the real world into the classroom. Students often ask why it is important to learn what we are learning. By bringing in virtual field trips, students have the opportunity to apply what we are learning to real life. It could be something as simple as looking at web cams to the opportunity to talk to an author to learn about the importance of the writing process. I can't wait to dig in and schedule some field trips.

Getting families connected: I had already invited families earlier in the year. However, I went back and went through the steps and reminded myself of some families that never connected. I LOVE EdPuzzle! I use it for many reasons that were discussed in the webinar. My favorite is that I am able to see in real time if a students is actively watching a video or just saying they are watching it. Many times I use it to figure out how much my students already know about a subject or concept. Kind of a pretest, but not really. I've never used the live mode, but that seems like something that would be interesting.

Yea! I discovered more goodies in my inventory and tried to build a meager seat. Then my son came by, destroyed it and took over to build me a cute coffee table and chairs. This is my attempt at copying his design inside my house. He thought my house was very cute though. He noticed the cracked nether blocks I used, but I couldn't tell if he thought that was a bad idea or not. I was proud of my work anyway! Again, I can see where this would be great for older kids, especially since my inexperience wouldn't be helpful in finding a way to tie standards to using Minecraft so far. Maybe more learning in this realm will spark some ideas.

Teach and show students how to turn on the immersive reader so that students who have reading disabilities or vision impairments can have the text read to them. This would be really important for students who might need to reread the instructions/directions again.
On Programs, Apps, Windows Products and other teaching Tools that have Voice response, show students how to utilize that. This can help students who struggle to write or type as well as students who have sensory issues or have lost the use of a hand, etc., have the option to respond verbally and it will record the response.
Teach and show students how to use Microsoft Editor. This can help all students with grammar and spelling, but especially students with reading disabilities and ESL students. This would include showing students how to turn on the “Text Prediction” part of Editor which uses AI to predict what the next words should be.

While BrainPOP seems mostly geared toward elementary and middle school students, there are number of tools, such as Primary Sources, Related Readings and the Graphic Organizers that can be used to help build critical background knowledge for high school students. Many of my students are low-level readers and the tools on BrainPOP can help them build that background knowledge needed to help them overcome those obstacles as the webinar shared that having solid and high background knowledge can help overcome low level reading skills.

After exploring Discovery Education, the quiz section offers numerous way to check your students understanding. I like the live quiz version where you can ask questions in real time and students can record their answers in Discovery Education. The Assessment sections is a great way to find out how the students are understanding what is being taught. I think my favorite is the studio section. As a 3rd grade teacher, I like the different templates to help reinforce what I'm teaching. I played with the 2-1-4. My students have been struggling with drawing conclusions. I created one and I plan on having my students complete it when we return. Another great resource to use to enhance the lessons I'm teaching.

My students just completed research on severe weather. They used Discovery Ed videos to assist in their research. They enjoyed watching the videos of the weather in action. They took notes on the different kinds of weather to help them choose the topic of their severe weather movie. Discovery Ed helped them to see the different types of weather in action which helped them choose which types of severe weather they wanted to learn more about. The students then researched the weather using Pebble Go, Epic and books. When their research was completed, they created a BrainPop movie for the severe weather type.

This article was/is a great read. Sometimes as a classroom teacher, it is hard to find time to give feedback to each student every day. The tips and tricks provided were stellar. It is important that we do not overwhelm our students with the feedback we give to them. Feedback has to be meaningful for students to fully comprehend it. I need to focus more on the goals and measurable feedback. This article is a reminder of the importance of feedback. Getting Families Started

Family engagement is always difficult. Parents are often busy and don't have time to answer phone calls. All of my student's families are connected to Seesaw. This allows me to send them a quick note when their students do something well and want to tell their parents. It also allows the parents to see the progress their students are making. I send all notes home through Seesaw and home with the student. I can also have conversations with parents at anytime. I think my favorite part of Seesaw is the student journal. My students read into Seesaw at least once a week. Parents have told me how much they enjoy being able to see how much their students are progressing throughout the year.

As a Social Studies teacher, the information to share with students on the Common Sense Media site is invaluable. A lot of the material can be applied directly to both my psychology and sociology classes, as we cover these topics in class. But they are also great to share with my US History students at the beginning of the year to engage them about how much time they engage with media and if it is productive or helpful. Also some great activities to use in our ACE Time class (advocacy) to help prepare the students I have, mostly seniors, for leaving high school with digital literacy skill and what media is useful and what is distracting or dangerous.

The use of CILC has so many resources including free virtual field trips from around the country on a variety of topics. CILC virtual field trips offer chat with professionals, or information/background on careers such as Horticulture. This will be helpful resources for high school student's transition plans.

I think this tool would be great to have the students use to add some life to their projects. I love all the writing tools. It is hard for some students to get started and these tools could really help them learn to be creative and add more thought to their presentations.

In this webinar it really breaks down how to start a presentation and flyer. There are a lot of starters that you can use to form a great presentation. This presentation focuses more on how to start your own work. Starting with how to add shapes, altering the shape to make it what you want. Then the massive possibilities on color schemes and photo inserts.

Epic Fail for me on this one! Oh dear! I guess I need to learn how to code! The instruction videos were helpful until it came to coding my agent to build the fence. My agent was in my house build and I couldn't figure out how to get him to come with me to help me build my fence, let alone put the code together to do it! AHHH! I can see where students could hit a frustration wall and begin to tune out and cause chaos when they are not skilled or taught explicitly to work in Minecraft. This was a good lesson for me to understand how explicit teaching in any new concept is critical.

I didn't design a lesson, so if this won't count, you can deduct my points for this one. I didn't feel like I was adept enough at building to create my own! I did find a really cool lesson already built for students to interact with. It's called the "Build With Bees: Life Cycle". I played through it and found it really engaging. There were a couple of videos that introduced the activity and a real video of a bee's life cycle. In the Minecraft Lesson you can explore the hive and make beebread, feed larvae, collect nectar, and much more. I could see using this as a whole group activity, then put small groups on the activity as a center rotation activity while incorporating this in my ELA with read-alouds, research, and a writing activity.

Evaluating Resources- I think I've been under-teaching in the "KNOW-the-QUALITY of your Resources "-area, and by think, I mean I KNOW I HAVE! I'm consistently dealing with students who take the FIRST answer they encounter and THE TRUTH, and having them research the quality of those resources seems to give them more autonomy- but also allows them to start questioning in more areas of their world. Questioning and research are crucial to thinking!

I had no idea you could do so much in Nearpod. They may have covered every base a teacher is concerned with. I have several students that struggle to read and with the audio option I can give these students the pride of being able to understand how to do a lesson without a teacher or para reading it to them. I really liked the fractions comparing lesson, the field trips, and the quizzes. I know my students could do several of these tasks once I set them up.

The three ways I could add different games in my classroom could be, to take the place of vocabulary reviews, math lesson exit tickets, Story or chapter reviews, and Spelling studying/review.

The benefit of gamifying a lessons and reviews is to add some positive and fun competition, retrieval of information both long and short term, and greater engagement when students are having fun.

There were numerous new ideas I took from this article. I think my favorite was the vocabulary activity that was presented. I never thought about making the vocabulary a game and having them repeat the game throughout the week with teaching in the middle. This allows you to see what words are being understood and where they need more support. I'm going to work through this strategy with my students during next weeks reading.

Gamifying lessons makes lessons more fun. When students are having fun, they tend to remember more of what they are learning. I try to gamify lessons as often as possible in my classroom. For example, for Easter, they will be doing an egg hunt. In each egg will be a math problem that needs to be solved. Students have more fun looking for the eggs which makes them want to complete more problems!

I used this to find a classroom newsletter that I really liked and can add to toolbox. I also found a 3-2-1 page that allows the students to chart information that they know much like a K-W-L page. I have a student with a disability that needs more than the immersive reader or just being able to type things. I found an app called Teachermade that allows me to upload my already created worksheets/assignments and then if needed, add ways for students to answer. The part that works best for this student's disability is the drop down box with choices.

A few of the things that stood out to me were the live events and the on-demand. I like how if the timing works the students can be in real time during and event and if the timing is not right, they can still see the same activity later. I am really excited about is how the event can work with our standards, giving learning opportunities in an engaging way. I am excited about the Earth Day with NASA, we will be on a field trip but we could also use this to add to our knowledge after we get back.

Rewatch of a recorded Webinar: I realize that as a middle school classroom teacher that I'm not considered elementary level, however- I'm currently at the 6th grade level and I feel that many of us would consider that a "bubble" situation. I feel that knowing what they are able to see and do at the 4th and 5th grade level will benefit me at the 6th grade level.

Nearpod from the secondary and elementary levels doesn't "seem" that much different, however, I feel that acknowledging the mental differences between grade levels is important. What works in one year for a student may not work 365 days later.

I like the collaboration board- I saw it humorous that even though JE didn't mention the pictures' and gifs they were brought on by those in live attendance (just like our students would).

Seeing the ability to have those live discussions while also creating the digital access is always worth a review. Blake brought up an interesting point about those that are unwilling/unable to draw- I felt that JE brought up the point that there is still a search option.

Gamify learning!! TIME TO CLIMB- I first played this at the launch party and have used it a few different times in my classroom as reviews since then. Having that competitive atmosphere helps bring in the old school mentality of "YOU JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER THIS" with the digital age of "remember this, but be tricked into knowing that you've remembered it."

I gained some more great information in this webinar. Joshua showed lots of great ideas for creating your own Nearpod lesson with draw, poll, open-ended slides and adding a video with question stop points. After trying my hand at creating my own Time to Climb in Nearpod, I am feeling more confident in creating a lesson myself using some of the above slides. I love that they now have immersive reader to read the questions for younger students. I have not tried the whiteboard during a lesson, but this would be great for a live-lesson to correct misunderstandings or provide new learning. Nearpod has also given the ability to import any Google slides you may have already created into a lesson and then you can even change them into specific interactive slides. I have not looked into the reports much, so that would be my next steps. There are built in resource video lessons for further Nearpod instruction. I may need to check those out as well!
