The student who lost her mom and had to go home and take care of her family. She went to her professor, and he allowed her to streamline the most important assignments so that she was able to achieve success. He saw her student as a person and accommodated and supported her.

Our theme for this year is challenge and support. It ties along very well with Table 2.1, in which the book describes the enforcer mindset and the protector mindset and how best to blend the 2, in order to challenge the students by creating high standards, while also offering high support to them when needed.

We thought the testosterone study was interesting in how they responded to tone, etc. The way you approach something is going to warrant a specific response, so the approach matters.
