For instance, your class just read a text in ELA and the setting is Hawaii. Students may explore the National Geographic website to see photos of Hawaii, as well as videos, facts, history, and general information. This would occur during center/station time.

PenPal Schools, now called Go Pangea is an app and website that students can use to connect with other like-minded students across the globe. I would utilize this resource as part of my writing center/station. I would have students create their own digital postcards to send to their PenPal. Students will need to draft their postcards on paper to submit for proofing and editing. Once edited and corrections are made students can then create their digital postcard. This would be a great resource for students to communicate and gain knowledge about students around the world and their culture.

Google Arts and Culture is a great resource for students to explore artwork and cultural artifacts around the world. This resource would be utilized as an extension activity. For this activity students to have the opportunity to explore after the completion of the main lesson. For example, in Social Studies students are learning about art in different cultures. At the completion of the lesson, I would include the link to the particular page they are allowed to explore for one of their centers/stations. Students well be able to research the artwork from their lesson and see additional photo's and possibly videos.
