Mr. Moore telling me to my face, "I need you to do this because you are the only one I trust to get it done." It hit me to my heart and I think I finally agreed that I could be trustworthy. However, after my first year of teaching I really realized how much I enjoy building connections with students, and watching them grow their skill and knowledge level over the course of the year.  I teach because it makes me happy, and because my job is to tell cool history stories all day to kids who think it's interesting (sometimes).  I love it.

I LOVE agriculture, and I LOVE people. Becoming an agriculture teacher was a way for me to combine the best of both worlds and make a difference in our youth. Agriculture will never go away and it's up to me as a teacher to help mold the leaders in all areas of agriculture. I love when a current student or a former student comes to me and tells me what their career plans are. Teaching is truly life changing for all involved.

They aren't respected or given rights, and in turn are not communicated with enough to teach them how to navigate life. Initially, I thought it was great to have a job with a steady (if not huge) paycheck that let me help support my family. But then I started to fall in love with pedagogy and the democracy and inclusion of public schools. The ideal of inclusion, anyway, if not the reality. This class gave me some great ideas on how to make a multicultural classroom a reality. P.S.
