The Talmud is to be studied, not read, because it is spare and has a laconic style . There are actually two Talmud's. One is the Jerusalem Talmud and the other it the Babylonian Talmud. While both essentially carry out the same meaning (teaching or study), the Torah refers to the written law and the Talmud refers to the oral law. It is widely accepted that Rabbi Yehuda ha-Nasi compiled and edited the first section of the Talmud.

The Talmud has actually been rejected by some sections of Judaism, because they feel it is a supplementary rendition of the Torah. It consists of two components, the Mishnah and the Gemara. There are four major principles of Talmud study. They include the following.

The Mishnayot and other Tannaitic statements are the source material in the Talmud’s search for the truth.

The sources are precise and accurate in every detail.

One must find what differing views have in common and what unites them.

All statements in the sources have independent and significant meaning.

The Ten Commandments are extremely important in Judaism because these are the rules that all Jews live by, besides laws of course. Jewish people view each commandment as equally important as all the others. They do this because they do not have the power to know what commandment is more important than the rest.

It includes the stories of Noah's arc and the flood, Abraham and his family's selection to be bearers of God's covenant, and the story of Jacob and his favorite son Joseph.
2) Exodus- This really just focuses on the enslavement of Jews and their rescue by Moses. It also introduces The Ten Commandments.
3)Leviticus- This book focuses on the Jewish laws for sacrificial worship. It also includes the dietary laws, and the holiness code that explains a sanctified communal life.
4) Numbers/Bamidbar- This book is just depicting the bad behavior of the Jews, when they were looking for a homeland.
5) Deuteronomy- This is Moses final messages to the Jews before they cross the Jordan River into Israel. He reminds them of God's importance, and describes the rewards for observing the laws. He also explains the punishment for not obeying the covenant laws.

Kabbalah is divided into three categories. These categories include the theoretical, the spiritual worlds, and the magical. Each one of these categories concerns different things, all of which fall under its category name. The focus of Kabbalah is the simultaneous immanence of God, with the latter described in terms of the attributes of God. Modern Kabbalah includes teachings on astrology, numerology and magic, and incorporates eastern ideas like auras and chakras.Kabbala teaches that letters and numbers are not merely signs invented by humans to record things, events, and thoughts, but are in themselves reservoirs of divine power.
