The most amazing reference in my opinion was a guy who did a whole new instrument based in “bolinhas de gude”. It was a giant machine made with wood and filled with metal balls which would fall in different surfaces in different angles and surfaces creating a lot of distinctive sounds at the same time. The result is a full body music played with grace and creativity. The second reference which I already known but had forgot about it was the Disney movie Fantasia. Just like oldschool  Disney feature films it is an animation followed by a full orchestra and there are nearly no lines. The magic happens as the movement of the characters is personified into a musical background that gives each scene the desired mood. In one of the scenes mushrooms dance to the beat of a symphony, which made me reconsiderate  what I thought about dance being a graphic score but wasn’t sure if it would be appropriate for the research; for dance is a way of expressing what you feel in a sound using your body.
After class I started to build my instrument, which is based in a tongue drum. In theory a tongue drum is usually a shell shaped object (but doesn’t have to), that has tongue shaped cut outs that when touched produce different sound according to the size of the tongues. The bigger tongues have more material to vibrate, therefore produce notes with a lower pitch than smaller ones. 
From a big old panetone can I made 6 cutouts on the bottom using a grinding machine with 3 centimeters ratio in half of them and 2 centimeters ratio in the other half, all facing the center. I later found out that they would be easier to play if the tabs faced the same direction and the sound would be more distinguished from one mold the to the other if the difference in the ratios were bigger. I dedicated most part of my day to that and it worked out pretty well.
Later on, testing the sound of my instrument I found out the sound seemed louder and the difference between the notes would be more apparent if I bended the tabs up. Another adjustment regarding the sound was made to give one of the cutouts a plate like sound. I put behind the tab some springs to make it vibrate even more. I really enjoyed the result. Later I spray painted the whole thing pink and made some black lines on the sides. It looks a lot like a cake. I’m considering repainting of adding texture with hot glue

In my group I have Marcelo, Thassi and Juliet and their respective instruments are a music box with litter, a rattle and a rainstic. For the song we decided to record some freestyle musics until we found a good one to work with. After choosing one, we recorded all of it's audio again separately so we could experiment a little more and also so we could see all the process visually on the program. Our music starts softly and as more instruments are added the song starts to get louder and faster until it ends, suddenly. 

In general I find group projects very hard because it's difficult to agree with the same things. I personally don't like the result because it's out of time. I suggested the use of a metronome but for the lack of time the group decided not to record again. As I was cutting the image of a painted girl I realized that from the 35 images I got from different fonts about the most famous paintings none of the were from a woman. My work is not inclusive at all. I have 60 diferent magnets and not a single female artist. I went to look for paintings from frida and other artists but I didn’t have money to print anymore high resolution images so my game is going to stay this way, but next time I’ll try to look for this kind of thing. The result is very good in general but manipulating it too much makes the edges crinkle. Maybe next time I’ll try to cover the print with some plastic. I bought the magnetic board but I couldnt find a nice box to put it in so a bought some envelopes that came in a big cardboard box. The box was closed with a strong tape so when I opened it the surface got ripped and stayed with an awful texture. I tried to cover it with the paint but it didn't work so I just gave up on this box. I also got an smaller box to keep my magnets in and the dices. I painted it red and it looked really smooth and well done but then the paper that was underneath was blown by the wind and glued itself to the top of the box making it look like the bigger one. Thank god I accidentally printed some of the artworks twice. I got the spare ones and glued to the top of the box and it ended looking nicer than before. I also printed my rules and glued it onto the inside bottom of the box so you can see it when you take the magnets out but the resolution didn't look nice because of the type of the printer. next time doing it in couche.
I asked as many student as I could to play my game so I could print out some outcomes to my presentation but the photos didn't look so nice and I also didn't really like most of them but the ones that were most successful for me were uploaded to our digital outcome padlet. 
In relation to my video, it was done in about 30 minutes. My main problem was regarding the lighting. My magnetic board is white and shinny and reflected everything so the lights needed to come from an specific direction for it not to appear on the frame. Gaia and Bruna helped me shooting and because I dont know anyhing about video editing Julia made almost all that work. The video is a simple time-lapse, an example of people playing my game, making different collages. I watched it again after it was done and the number that comes in the dices and the number of magnets used for the first collage were not the same so it actually doesn't explain the game correctly. I got desperate and ended up isolating myself and stoped doing what I was doing before. Leo was our tutor in this day and even though my pallet wasn't red he came to look for me to help me out. We talked about how when you think you are stuck it is good to talk to someone else and we discussed my game in a very dynamic way. We got into two different paths. The first one would be the collage game I was thinking on the first place but choosing between changing bodies and changing faces. For him the magnets should be square shaped so it would be easier to put it together. the second option was to make a storytelling game where each person would pick some magnets for the other player and the player should invent an story combining all of them. Leo liked better the second one but I prefer something more visual than written so I went for the first idea but instead of looking up again for portraits to make them same sized and squared I decided to use the ones I already had with portraits, objects, animals, statues etc so the game is more versatile. In some of them I would cut of some parts like legs, arms, the eyes or nose, the whole head etc and some I would leave the hole thing so you can stick the images on top of it. Unfurtunetly my session happened on the afternoon, so I couldn't take part on it, but my session was filmed so I could recieve some feedback. In the video it was discussed the medal, which was how visually exciting my game was and the value of the objective; and the mission, a way to make it more educational. The objective of my game was to make new art based on the most famous and traditional ones, getting together classicals in way that were never thought before, but I also had a brief converation with Michael before leaving about how the game could be further developed to teach people about art. This was heavely discussed on my critic and very interesting ideas came up. The main focus was on how to add information about each of the artworks chosen. Maybe use numbers on the back of each magnet and then provide information on each number or a booklet with facts about each work. Other very inspiring ideas which I intend to follow if I redevelop this piece is to  make other versions with different specifications and movements like impressionism, brazillian artists or even an edition (as this one is male dominant) with only female artists. 
I want this game to be further developed and sold, I think it has big potential specially for teaching kids about art in a different fun way. Next time I'm gonna focus on a booklet or cards on each piece and also in a box that catches pwople attention. We asked a few people to listen to it with their eyes closed and in general we got the response of it being vary nature-like at the beggining and afterwards it gets more noisy giving the idea of accumulation so we decided to develop the video inspired on human intervation on nature. Following the nature sounds at the beggining  we are going to present a backound made out of grass and nature elements like flowers, leaves and water (rainstick) are going to appear on the scene according to each noise. As the strong beats start litter is added to the scenario until there's no more green left to see.

We decided to shoot our video in the photo studio since we could control the lightening ourselves. For this reason we replaced the grass background for the green chroma key of the studio. All of us had already collected trash for the shoot but we needed more, so me and Thassi went to collect constructions material that were thrown in the dumpster near EBAC as well as some flowers and leaves in the neighbourhood. 
We tought making making a time-lapse video instead of shooting all at once would be easier beacuse we would have more control of each step and would be able to edit things later. I didn't know we had a tripod for iPhones in Ebac; it was a very important tool and I'm sure I will need to use it more times for other projects.
Michael introduced us to a new padlet that is gping to be used from now on to trace the students goals for the day. My group set up to take all the photos needed during the day and it was nice to see that we were able to acomplish the task we propsed ourselves to do. I actually thought that would be difficult to take all the photos in one day and I'm surprised on how fast a time-lapse production ca be

Thassi and Marcelo took the day to edit the video and I went to decide about the Graphic Score. We agreed about each one of us making the graphic Score for our own musical instrument separetly into tracing paper to then join all of it together on a booklet. We tested if we were gonna be able to see all the images from the tracing paper beacause of the amount of pages and the result is not as clear as we hoped it to be but it can be seen. 
I tested a few materials and the one I liked the most was the metalic acrylic paints. I think it maches my instrument because the sound is very metal-like (my instrument is actually made of metal so..). Tomorrow intend to make the final piece.
My group sent me the finished video and I'm really gld with the result. It came out much better than I expected it to be. Spent the whole morning marking each time my instrument appeared in our video so I could make my Graphic Score with more precision. It was done in the afternoon in a A3 tracing paper and I set up a paper with markings for each second of the song underneath the piece so the drawing would be accurate to the sounds. Every 0.7 cm corresponded to a second of our song and it was easier to determin were everything would go once I had the exact marks. I only wish we used a bigger size than A3 cause I wasn't able to fit so many different sounds in such a small space, so it's not as accurate as I would like it to be. I brought my Graphic Score as well as some spikes to pin the images together but after talking to Monique we tought it was a better idea to make a book and use japanese binding to sew everythig together. We used Parana paper to make a base for the tracing papers and glued black canson so it would have a better final touching;  there was a discussion about having a margin but following the teacher's opinion we opted not to. The sewing line chosen was also the black and mounted together everything looked very clean and consistent. I forgot about how I had forgotten of how much I enjoy book binding and intend to make more as soon as I can. 
Our only problem was that we ended up having more pages than originally counted and the layers weren't able to be seen from the first page. I prefered this method cause it's more dinamic and gives straight answers to our most common questions regarding our projects, and this way we can get feedback from the entire class in a shorter amount of time. 
For me the crit was better than expected because looking from other groups amount of work we didn't have as many outcomes and still we had very good feedbacks. According to the data, our most succesfull outcome is the music video which people in general thought was well executed and in timing as well as consistent to the sounds there represented. A subject that came up for discussion was about the choice of the tracing paper used in the Graphic Scores as we can't see all the layers together. He talked about one of his works which he reproduced several times regarding different subjects. It helped me to see my life through a different point of view and want to chanelize my years visually. Although I rather not to because of the sense of anxiety that comes with seeing that another day has gone by. 
Bea and Michael introduced us to the brief and we discussed which project we had chosen to redo. I ended up changing my mind regarding what brief to choose since Bea told me I should go for the one that excites me the most. My final decision was to work with rules restrictions and chance because I want to explore more with new instruments and the connection between movement and sound. We rewrote the project brief and used scamper technique in order to find out how we were gonna aproach the project. I chose to substitute my first instrument and, if I can, explore some body movements with the sounds created. Marcella gave me the idea to make the song inspered on the movements instead of the other way around which was to dance according to the the feeling of the song. Also bought a single pickup and a jack to be able to make it an electrical instrument, so it can be used with an amplifier.

I then, took the mesures to find out where to drill the instrument to be able to add the nails and other gadgets. Marcelo helped me to use all the tools since I never used it  before.
Was pretty satisfied with the result. 
I also painted the cable using a regular black spray. Wanted to use car paint instead but it was too expensive, so to give it a glow I coated it with varnish, but the quality of the product was not so good and gave my guitar a blue tone.

Used a weld to join the cables and it ended up working pretty well! The sound is rough, yet it can be changed using an amplifier and a pedalboard. It look pretty good visually too. 
We decided to use a wine tool to make an slider so you can play and make the sound more fluid. It is a challange for me to leave my house by myself and my axiety also privates me sometimes to enter places I want to enter and because of that, having to go to determined locations to attned the brief might be a way to connect to the world around me and get to know interesting places, get inspired by ideas, artworks, landscapes, different faces and points of view. I first chose to play with drawings from memory, but memories are too vague, so I opted for observational drawings and maybe photgraphy. Ended up with 25 different location, so there's plenty to see. Places like Pinacoteca or the Consolacao cemitery will give me lot's of good visuals to work with, for it's content and the architecture itself. My list also includes many museums and parks and I'm already a little anxious for getting to know each place I have or haven't already met.
Hopefully I will be able to visit all the places in my list in time for the end of the project. In case this doesn't happen, I will develop the project further, according to my visitations. Maybe, I can make of it a personal challenge and tool to discorver the world around me in a deeper way.

I have decided to work with a polaroid camera, so the result is instant , the moment is captured exactly the way it happened and there are no spaces for editing the reality. Yet, the live drawings are made with watercolors, and demand a certain amount of time to be reproduced. The places I can't find time to draw, I have decided to take photographs using a regular phone camera, so I can register it later. It is not the same thing, the perspective is different and the interaction between site and viwer is displaced to a second point of view' but it is a way to work around specific situations that might happen.
I also think it's been hard to find a pattern between my drawings and my polaroids, since the first one is more ludic for being my point of view on the reality around me, while the photgraphs register the location in a broader way ( at least the way I'm doing it). My first drawing was a pink desert made with pontilism. In my opinion, the drawing was really successfull considering I had never tryind to use this kind of technique before. Only need to have a firmer han, because most of the points look like traces; but the pink color gives it a nice psicodelic vibe, which I enjoyed very much. 
Also did a drawing based on carnivore rabbits, which include collage. This was my favorite one, since rabbits are considered such cute animals and this distortion gives a different twist. I might base my project intirely on the carnivore rabbits.

The other 5%are the males which are only used to copulate. There are going to be 4 A3's the togehter narrate a bee apocalypse. To set which style the illustrations are going to be I got a small squared canvas to try and let my hand warm up, since I haven't used acrylic paint in a long time. It was very helpful to make this sample. I really enjoyed the result, but later trying to represent the sink through drawings and collage of metallic paper I think I failed miserably in creating an interesting image since the drawing didn't fit in the scene. In the afternoon we went to meet the site and it was actually a pretty big facility with large backyard and 3 floors. We were asked to work in pairs so I gathered with Yasmin to decide which place we were gonna work on. We stayed between the rooms corridor (since is the floor they spend the most time with and it looks like a hospital corridor from the doors) and the reading room (for it’s important to find a way to stimulate reading) and ended up choosing for the corridor. We were then asked to measure it so we spent quite some time drawing everything and making tha marks.

H estarted the day teaching us about block letteres. I thought it was an amazing technique that makes it so much easy to do 3d lettering at any size you want. We then painted a mural next to the class. I painted the biggest part and also some details. The best thing about doing thi was to connect again with paint and painting murals. He used an specific paint with esmalte soluvel, which dries out really quickly, is non-toxic and really easy to work with. The whole day was dedicated to that. I don't think I will use letters in my artwork for this project since me and Yasmin were thinking as a primary idea to deal with organic forms. but if I have to, now I know how to.

Me and yasmin decided to chose the color pallet. we went with deep redish Purple, a greenish blue, light lemon green and egg yolk yellow. I decided to do a research on our pallete and fortunetly, the colors all have an positive impact in the human mind, being very stimulative for children, being so that the blue calms down, the yellow stimulates the memory, green for balance and nature and purple helps with focus. 
Me and Yasmin ought to explore the shapes in these specific colors, creating organic forms to be put in different compositions. I did the cutting and placement of the forms since I'm better at compositions than Yas. We changed our minds regarding the color palettes. We chose to insaturate the colors so it looks softer for the eyes. The colors will be pastels but continue with the same hue.
