The adventure of going without a destination combined with the quality of the destination we discovered provided me the sensation of being a traveler. This night, I even felt adventurous enough to experience my first taste of Escargot! I think it tasted kinda like shrimp scampi, but more Frenchy. Our evening included much conversation with the owner, who taught us about French wine, shared his story with us, and provided a list of his favorite places to go to in Paris. As long as I can remember, I have always dreamed of traveling the world. I have always identified myself as passionate about experiencing various cultures amongst my travels. When I stood at the base (and on top) of the Eiffel Tower, I felt a sense of satisfaction. This was the moment that the significance of existing in a different country really sunk in. Here in the States, I have grown in favor of combining fruit with Brie cheese, so when the opportunity arose to do the same with authentic Brie from France, I jumped excitedly at it. However, a whole carton of strawberries deemed too much for one person, so amongst the others sharing at our picnic on the soccer fields, I passed around my strawberries. From then on, our sharing of strawberries continued. I remember sharing strawberries as a group when Darren searched for a restaurant to enjoy our farewell dinner at. I’m pretty sure I ate gelato everyday if not twice a day! There was one gelato experience that was very unique and I found that it warmed my heart. Several of us went to get gelato, and while we were eating an old man came into the shop with a violin case. He proceeded to play and sing for the entire time we sat. I feel that music always made me feel most connected to the culture of France.

I had no expectation, and so it was better than I ever imagined! This animated art gallery created by light made me speechless. The variation of art styles and music kept the exhibit interesting and maintained my curiosity. I could have spent all day there, watching the changing art over and over. Nadia taught us a few of the basics so that we could introduce ourselves in LSF. I am not sure why, but I had expected LSF to be more similar to ASL than it was. However, it was so so worth it when we climbed the last stairs to the most beautiful view of the city. I enjoyed exploring the whole little village and loved having a meal with the people we met during our day. (Featured in this image is our tour guide.) Also, the presentation of Laurent Clerc captivated my attention the same as the presenter did. Then we got to finish with the exploration of the bat cave, which added another fun adventure to the day! I admired each historical building's uniqueness and the intense labor dedicated to these products. I wish my mother could have been with me, because she loves architecture, and I'm sure she would have known a million interesting little facts about the buildings. I am hopeful that one day I could take her to the many places I visited! This image is of Notre Dame, the church. This experience was unique, because when I returned to the church for the second time, I arrived during a mass.
