         <description><![CDATA[<div>Leadership of the Roman Republic was split between the two consuls (and the senate), the consulship being a dual position so that no one person could have too much power, as in the days of early Rome as a kingdom. The senate and consulship were open only to the Roman nobility, the patricians, but later (3rd c.) became open to the common people, the plebians.<br>Familial leadership was the domain of the "paterfamilias", the oldest male, who had legal authority over his family and made many of their decisions.<br>r.s</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>kings were elected, they were almighty and powerful.<br>you could only have 2 consuls at any given time, they could veto eachother to keep 1 from getting too powerful and only had 1 year term. they had to alternate on a monthly basis on who was the more senior consul.<br>a senate was mainly a patrician. more wealthy plebians in the senate. the senate is composed of the aristrocracy.          <description><![CDATA[<div>That during early Rome the leaders were actually Kings, it wasn't until later after the 7th King that Rome transformed into the Republic. The leadership during the Republic was primarily with Consuls - who were basically the top of the leader hierarchy.<br>The Senate was also very important, made of 600 men. <br>G.D</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The leadership in Rome went through many transformations starting with Romulus, who was the first of the monarchs that ruled over Rome, however over time the leading to the Republic, The Monarchs were forced to step down/overthrown and it gave way for the council that allowed for the people to have more power over what happened with their laws and land. Monarchs would later be reintroduced.</div>]]></description>
