I was so sad that I couldn’t find many projects that I had made or the calendar that my brother made my mom for mothers day one year that said “the reason why I love my mom is that she buys me things and feeds me whatever I want”! What I did include was a mothers day card my brother gave my mom that had a flower he cut out and colored as well as a free lunch coupon (Who knows what that would have tasted like!). I also included a bunny my ex boyfriend made in his ceramics class out of clay and painted for me because his nick name for me was “Conejo” which is bunny in Spanish.

Lastly, I am showing a tile that my teacher wrote happy mothers day on and allowed my peers and I to freestyle a drawing onto. We then baked them to dry them as a gift to our moms. I actually faintly remember making this tile in class. I believe I was in third or fourth grade. I believe art is an essential tool for a child to be able to express themselves. I remember loving the reaction on my moms face when I would give her anything I created, no matter how big or crazy looking. I loved that there is no right way, judgement or rules to art. Allowing children the opportunity to express themselves in a free space while using art to reinforce concepts will endorse a meaningful and creative critical thinking environment.

My family saved all my art projects but most are tucked away, we did however recall a lot of them together for this assignment. These were accessible and seemed to be a common elementary art project for me as my mom has about 8 homemade books. The years seemed to go down from fourth grade and some books were dedicated to certain holidays like Mother's Day but other's were just titled "The Lizard and the boy" leaving me confused on the lesson plan. I do know it seemed creative as each book is made of paper and card stock, some have fabric on the outside, binded well and standing the test of time. Each had about 4-6 pages, were titled, and signed. They contained very silly and fun sentences inside, art, and photos.

The assignment was to write and illustrate a non-fiction book.
I made my book about jaguars.
This was an English assignment and the lesson tied to it was on non-fiction.
I think this was a good lesson plan. Especially as someone who really liked fiction, this challenged me but being able to include drawings made it more interesting to me.
If I would change anything it would be to also do a fiction book. Or to set less limitations on the drawings. I remember while making it I had to have a certain amount of drawings. But I had ran out of
ideas of what I could draw on each page since there wasn't really a story. I think students could get more creative for example, with drawing out their own
characters that they have created.

I was not able to find the box filled with my childhood art work but I was able to find these few images of art assignments I have done with my class the image with the tree trunk is an activity where we wrapped the tree with paper and allowed the children to draw and create what they wanted but as they were drawing they could feel and see the texture of the tree. as for the one with the easel the children were given different paints to mix colors and see what would happen when they did. and in the last image the children were given a color wheel and some loose pieces that were different colors and were able to place them in the color wheel where they believed it went.

This is an art project I created in my 10th grade art class. I drew a koi fish.

This was an art lesson. We drew a picture of our choosing. We were to look at the original and copy it. After that we were supposed to transfer the drawing using a pen. In the copy we were supposed to color it using water colors. Sadly, I do not know what happened to that version. This was supposed to help us with our line work and introduce us to water colors.

I do think it was a great lesson plan. The teacher was very helpful and graded us not on how “good” the piece was, but rather on if we followed directions and on effort.

I would not change anything about this lesson plan, because I remember that as a student I enjoyed this assignment.

I was so sad that I wasn't able to find any physical objects from my childhood. Unfortunately moving to Lb from LA was hard and I wasn't able to take much other than pictures and a bit of clothes. But these pictures hold a lot of good memories. In the picture with my pink shirt we made some Chinese dragon puppets in celebration of the Chinese. and in the photos of me painting we made it during Christmas and the other for Halloween. we would make something for every time a holiday was around the corner. Painting use to be my favorite thing to do as a kid, just as much it is now being 15 yrs older.

it taught me to be very hands on when I was younger and also made me like doing a lot of small projects especially when it included something festive.

As a child, I was very much into art. From the first to the fifth grade I wanted to be a fashion designer and constantly drew different outfits. After this, I was in love with the idea of being a tattoo artist. Drawing surrounded most of my free time as a kid, and I enjoyed all aspects of art. The one drawing I still have to this day is from a project I did in the fifth grade. It was a self-portrait we did while looking in a mirror. I was very proud of this art piece at the time, and sort of still am. This was a part of the mandatory art class we took once a week. I honestly really enjoyed this lesson plan. I think it really helped me become more confident as a child due to the fact it forced me to look at myself and find the good in any and all of my insecurities. I honestly wouldn't change anything about my drawing or my lesson plan.

These series of photos are a book I wrote/illustrated sometime in elementary school. It was in a creative writing class I took over the summer, where we had two weeks to plan, create, and write a story of our own. Some of the concepts I remember having to include in our story was talking about our five sense to make it as detailed as possible. I think this was a great lesson plan because it allowed us to be creative while still learning important language arts concepts at the same time. I do not remember much about the assignment guidelines itself, but if I honestly do not think I would change anything because it was age appropriate and beneficial.

I drew this when I was in Preschool. During this time, I was learning how to read and write as you can see by the almost finished ABC and me practicing to write my name. The teacher actually collected all of our artworks and made it into a huge book for us to keep at the end of the year which I still have till this day. In that booklet, she also included photos of us throughout the school year, when we would volunteer or doing arts and craft. I thought it was very nice to look back on and it is something that I would want to do in my classroom as well for the students to have something to look back on.

I love to draw so when meet the masters came to school I was excited to be able to recover new are and try doing it. For this project I have no idea what we were doing but I was laughing in why I would put P.S. before my name. I also thought It was interesting to see my attempt to draw tree branches and bats. This was done in 2005 so I was around 8 years old and in clear need of grammar practice.
