Summary:
This book describes and illustrates the meaning of kindness by giving examples of kind attitudes. The book states that being kind does not mean being a type of things or doing something odd, but it means treating others in a way that make them happy. The idea of the book is to give examples of kind behaviors so that kids can do it.
When to use:
I will use this book in the beginning of the school year or the semester when I want to sit up the classroom rules with students. This book can be part of the class library also, so I can refer to it to encourage kindness when children start to forget the rules or act differently.
Activity:
In the art center. I can provide children with materials to make cards and write one word or draw a picture. Each child can choose what he/she wants to write and who to give the card to.

Summary:
The story is about a teacher that saw some children in class treating each other unkindly, so she asked them to do kind actions at home and share it with the class. When the class loved the idea, the teacher turns it into a project where everyone can post a kind action he/she did inside or outside the school.
When to use:
I can use this book with children in class when I see them being respectful of each other or the teacher. Also if a discussion about being kind or rude with people outside of school come up in the class. I will use this book with children who are ignorant about how to be kind. ِChildren who are being mean deliberately need other guiding books. 
Activity:
The kindness wall project that is in the book will be a great idea to encourage children to be kind in school and out of school. We will cut the hearts in the art center and keep them nearby the wall of kindness. Children can also help decorate the wall before we start to post the kind actions.

1- What did David feel when he collected the gerbils?
2- What are some kind actions can you do when you go to the park?

Summary:
The storybook is about a boy who cannot wait for his turn to talk. He always interrupts people because he feels all his words are necessary. One day his friends interrupted him, and he felt terrible. When he shared with his mother, she taught him Technics to keep his words until his turn.
When to use:
This book can be used during center time to be read with a child who usually interrupts the class. Also, I can use this book for read-aloud if students do not need to learn the listening skills, so they respect the teachers' and classmates' talks.
Activity:
In the first part of the game:
Children sit in a circle and the first child whisper in the next child's ears, and to the next one. Until the last child say what she hears out loud.
In the second part:
students stay in three lines where the left and the right child whisper in the middle child's ears two different sentences, and the child in the middle is asked to say what she hears.
Children can compare their listening skills in the two sitting, and how having to different information at the same time make them lose focus in both.
Another activity:
The teacher brings two storybooks and reads a page from each book until she ends the two books. Then she asks students to retell one of the stories without mixing them.

Summary:
The book is about a boy who called David. David always makes a mess, and his mom says no David. The mom gives other demands also in the book like don't play with your food and put things back. At the end of the book, the mom says that she loves David.
When to use:
This book can be used before lunchtime or center time if children do mess during one of these times. Also, this book can be used to represent deeper meanings like even if your parents prevent you from doing things or critic your behavior, they still love you. 
Activity:
The teacher can bring two big boards and different pictures of clean, organized furniture and tools, and for messy staff. She asks children to create two posts one for a decent, orderly classroom, and the other for the opposite. After finishing children can compare the two pictures and judge their classroom if it is like one of the images. The two posts can sit an observable spot in the class, so the teacher can refer to them if she felt that children are making a mess.

1- what was David doing wrong? Why his mom was saying no all the time?
2- Can David be a hero? Why?
3- How could David fix what he did?

Summary:
The story is about a boy who has a dragon friend. This dragon always gets mad and angry instead of asking to do things politely. So, the boy treated the dragon back aggressively. The dragon realized how much it hurts to treat someone terrible, so he decided to control his anger and speak his needs calmly.
When to use:
When a child in class cry and yell for his needs, or he kicks and jumps to show rejection. This book can be read with the child during centers or as read aloud for the class, so everyone learns the consequences of acting aggressively. 
Activity:
In this activity, the teacher can teach children how to deal with their aggression. She can bring cards of the actions (with a picture and one-word description like breath, count, draw, hit a billow.. so on). These cards can be placed in the writing center, where children can put them in order and learn to copy the words.
Another Activity:
The teacher can bring balloons filled with sand and ask children to draw on them angry dragons. Each child can keep his dragon in class, so when she gets mad, she squeezes her dragon.
Questions:
1- Why did not the dragon use his words calmly when he did not want to play?
2- What are other ideas Gorge would have used with the dragon to teach him to be calm and use his words?
