         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><mark>Inherited traits: </mark></strong><strong><br>- Age: </strong>18-25 report the most illicit drug use<strong> <br>- Race/ Ethnicity: Those who are most likely to abuse goes a follows; </strong>Two or more races 13.5%; American Indian/Alaska Natives 13.4%; Black/African American: 12.4%; Whites: 10.4%; Hispanic or Latino: 8.9%; Asians: 4.1% <br>- <strong>Gender: </strong>Males are more likely than females to be current illicit drug users (11.5% vs. 7.3%)<br><strong><mark>Traits that may be acquired:</mark></strong><br><strong>- Religion: Example:</strong> Populations of the Islamic faith, which have very high rates of abstention.<br><strong>- Socioeconomic status: </strong>a great contributor to the abuse of substances. It is well known that the areas where it seems to be the toughest to survive are the ones to have substance abuses. <br><strong>- Education: </strong>College graduates have lower rates of current illicit drug use (6.7%) compared to those with only some college (10.8%) </div><pre>Khan Academy video: to better understand factors that may contribute for an individual to abuse a substance. </pre>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em><mark>Alcohol and drug use can have negative consequences on the health, economy, productivity, and social aspects of communities</mark></em></strong><strong><mark>. </mark></strong></div><div>-  A relationship pattern in which addicted or non-addicted family members identify with the alcoholic/addict and deny the existence of alcohol consumption as a problem. </div><div>- Denial, or the making up of excuses for the excessive drinking problems of the alcoholic, thus allowing or “enabling” the addiction to persist. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Teach younger generations the risk of using and abusing substances.<br>-  Create a treatment plan that requires those with a drug charge to go a rehab program to assist with a new sober lifestyle.<br>- Create a program where one can for assistance to see if they are addicted. </div><div>- Alcohol and drug use are important contributors to global disease burden. Effective interventions should be scaled up to prevent and reduce substance use disease burden. </div><div>- Assist those who are at a disadvantage socioeconomically, so they can be able to have the same chances at “getting clean.” </div><pre>Below shows what treatment coverage of substance dependence is available, globally: </pre>]]></description>
