         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Blank Verse - verse without rhyme, especially that which uses iambic pentameter.<br>Ex: Most of Shakespeare's plays are written in blank verse<br>- Soliloquy - an act of speaking one's thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers, especially by a character in a play.<br>Ex: Speaking her internal thoughts as she moved about, the Broadway star gave a stellar soliloquy through her moving speech.</div><div>- Dramatic Irony - the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.<br>Ex: This dramatic irony is the engine of the novel.<br>- Foreshadowing - be a warning or indication of (a future event).<br>Ex: Of far-reaching importance was, on the other hand, his <strong>foreshadowing</strong> of the Darwinian theory in his works on the metamorphosis of plants and on animal morphology.<br>- Hubris - excessive pride or self-confidence.</div><div>Ex: It is easy to offend others when blinded by <strong>hubris</strong>.<br>- Catharsis - the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions.</div><div>Ex: As the city grieves for those who died during the hurricane, many survivors find catharsis in the warmth of area churches.<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Blank Verse</strong>- is unrhymed poetry written in iambic pentameter. <strong>Ex: </strong>And now, with gleams of half-extinguished thought.<br><strong>Soliloquy</strong>- is a speech in a dramatic work in which a character speacks his or her thought aloud.<strong> Ex:</strong> Life's but a walking shadow, a poor players, That struts and frets his hour upon the stage. <br><strong>Dramatic Irony</strong>- occurs when the reader or viewer knows something that a character does not know. <strong>Ex:</strong> Act 1, the audience knows that Macbeth is thinking of killing Duncan, but Duncan does not. <br><strong>Foreshawdoing</strong>- is a writer use of hints or clues to indicate events that will occure later in a story. <strong>Ex</strong>: In "The Rocking Horse Winner," the strange mad frenzy with which Paul rides his rocking horse early in the story foreshadowing the tradegy of his final ride. <br><strong>Hubris</strong>- excessive pride or self-confidence. <strong>Ex: </strong>President Trump is a hubristic person. <br><strong>Catharsis</strong>- releasing emoitions.<strong> Ex.</strong> The Purge is a catharsis film.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
