         <description><![CDATA[<div>My favorite food are fruits, cause as a person who does not have a good relationship with sweet treats and lactose intolerant. Fruits are the best sweet treats for me. Blueberries, peach and oranges are my top favorite. Blueberries are one of the most powerful antioxidants, oranges and mandarins are know for the vitamin C present in them, and they are high in fiber and antioxidants too. Peach are my favorite during summer because they have vitamin A and C,&nbsp; fiber and protein. Other fruits I eat as treats are kiwi, mango, pears, plums and apples, but with mostly of them I careful with how much I eat because of the sugar in them.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

It is very difficult for me to decide on a favorite as it changes frequently. As of now, my go to meals have kimchi like kimchi fried rice or scrambled eggs with kimchi. One thought I always have in mind is: If most individuals are well aware of the long term health effects of overeating certain foods, why do they still continue to eat them?</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My dietary preferences change often, and although I am not a picky eater, there are very few foods I wish I could eat every day. &nbsp;<br>My favorite has always been sushi. It's nutrient dense and delicious. I love how sushi is a lean protein dish that is low in calories and fat and easily digested. Fortunately, my family also enjoys planning seafood dinners for almost any major holiday. Visiting a sushi bar is always a great experience itself because of the pleasant atmosphere and the culinary arts presented by the chefs. Still, I aspire to learn how to prepare ingredients and assemble rolls at home.&nbsp;<br>In terms of exercise, I have a set at-home routine with weights, and my fitness goal for the next few years is to gain more muscle. This semester I am looking forward to learning about foods that can either enhance or hinder our progress on health or fitness journeys. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As someone who uses cooking as an escape, I find simple meals to be the best. Although I enjoy eating meat sometimes, most of my meals are unintentionally vegan because I prefer vegetables. I think my dog approves because she likes to eat from my plate and is named after a squash. However, it can be hard to pick from the many food options for my dog regarding nutrition and longevity. This makes me think about my food habits and how some countries have the longest living grandmas and the effects of nutrition especially in old age. My grandma was afraid to drink my chicken coconut soup when she had covid but ate salted fish instead which confused me. Maybe this class can equip me with the knowledge to cook better for my grandma and dog. </div>]]></description>

It is a spicy tomato based sauce with crushed red pepper flakes typically served over linguini and topped with shrimp. Pasta is my favorite food because it can be made in to so many different dishes.  I used to be a very picky eater when I was younger but I have slowly expanded my palate by tasting new foods.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hey Guys my name is Denisse Espinoza. My favorite food has to be sopes with steak. It is a Mexican dish, the sopes. I like this because it is a great combination of spicy with a side of steak. The sope is a corn flour tortilla handmade and you add chile, beans, and cheese on top. You can add more but that's how I eat it. The steak is very seasoned and it's a good combo. A nutrition question that I have is how do you know what amount of protein intake is required for someone who wants to gain weight (healthy wise) and go to the gym?</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think my favorite food would have to be Korean cold noodles. When I traveled to South Korea this summer, I ate this dish at least once a day. Its the perfect combination of sweet, sour, spicy, chewy, everything you could want. I wish I had the ability to make this myself, however, I am an individual incapable of cooking something without burning it. If you ever have the chance to try this dish, you must!!!          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello everyone, I have recently fallen in love with the variety of Asian cuisine, most recently, I tried hotpot for the first time and ate authentic (as per the people that took me) Korean food and I really enjoyed it all. I would say the Korean BBQ Pork was by far one of the best things I've tried. I have a rather large family and with so many of us, it is easier for us to cook whatever is easiest and quickest which isn't always the healthiest. My question would be, how could I influence a bigger family into eating healthier together? </div>]]></description>

Although, I try eating healthy on the daily and I love making healthy smoothies. My absolute favorite is very difficult to pick because there's many! Some that I can list are Sushi, Panipuri, Biryani, Pasta and any desserts with chocolates. Panipuri is an Indian cultural street snack which is basically fried semolina balls filled with potatoes, chickpeas and garnished with spices dipped in tamarind sauce. It is an explosion of flavors in the mouth! Biryani is&nbsp;also an Indian dish which is rice with meat made in flavored herbs. I can't wait to explore more in the future with different cultures food. I am very excited to learn new things in this class. My favorite food often depends on the time of day but my favorite type of cuisnie would have to be Mediterranean food because of its versatility and because it can be supplemented with many side dishes. I might be biased because both of my parents are Egyptian and I grew up eating a lot of Mediterranean dishes. I also really enjoy Chinese and Thai dishes.&nbsp; My comfort food would have to be an Egyptian dish called "Mulukhiya" which is kind of like a soup that is made from the jute leaf and chicken/beef broth. In my free time, I enjoy weightlifting and playing soccer. I am very curious to learn more about the contributions that supplements, like creatine for example, can make. Also, I've read a lot that the ideal amount of daily protein intake for muscle growth is 1-1.5 grams per pound of body weight, but I have always wondered about the science behind this and where this number comes from. </div>]]></description>
