In 206 AD, Lieutenant Postumus, made himself emperor of most of Europe and Britain. Around 273 AD, almost all of the north-western became the, "Empire of the Gallic Provinces", however this empire died a year later. </p>]]></description>

But after his death and that of his son Constantine II, Britannia faced instability. Emperor Constans' surprise visit in 343 suggested trouble, possibly with northern tribes. The Picts, splitting into groups, joined forces against Britannia in 382, but were repelled by Roman commander Magnus Maximus.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In 383, Maximus rebelled and invaded Gaul, leaving Britain vulnerable to raids. Local leaders emerged, and conflicts with Picts persisted until at least 390. In 398, Romans fought off Picts, Saxons, and Irish raiders. Troops left Britain in 404/5 to fight Goths in Italy, leaving the provinces unprotected. By 406, Britons expelled Roman officials, ending ties due to continued raids.</p>]]></description>
