She takes readers through her day to day experiences and choices she has to make in order to keep her living situation a secret. The novel explores different social issues, such as homelessness, domestic abuse, and bullying. In the end, readers see how far Linden will go to save her friends, all the while keeping her homelessness a secret.

Favorite Quote: “If I want my life to matter, these eyes can't see who I really am. Who I'm striving hard not to be. The homeless girl hiding in front of them.”

Review: I feel that Where I Live is a novel that truly gives readers a glimpse into life as a homeless teen. Readers begin to empathize with Linden, but also keep yearning for her to just ask for help. I think this novel can inspire teens to seek help when dealing with abuse in relationships, experiencing issues with their living situations, or when being bullied for who they are and where they come from. Linden is an example of the success that can come when you ask for help, but it’s sad to see that success stories are few and far between.

Anne's imagination and personality completely overwhelm the Cuthbert's and the town of Avonlea but their prejudices are challenged when Anne turns out to be the kindest little girl. Anne learns the value of love and community.

Favorite Quote: "There's such a lot of Annes in me. It was so sweet seeing Anne being embraced by a loving community after going through so much. What I like so much about this book is that it was written in the early 1900s for little girls but it's still relevant today for all people. So yes I would recommend it to everybody.

Reviewed by: Jillian Minnoia

Author: Alvin Shwartz

Number of pages: 111

Book Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Genre: Spooky, Scary, Horror

Themes: Fantasy Fiction

Book Summary: The book is mostly about stories that you can tell to your friends/family members. The intention of the stories is to see if you can scare anybody.

Favorite Quote: "And where that haunt had held on to his coat, the print of those bony fingers was burned right into the cloth. It never did come out."

Review: Overall, even though it is not one continuous story, it is still a very good book for sleepovers and such. I would recommend to people who enjoy scary stories, but if you get scared easily I wouldn't recommend it. Some of the stories can make you feel sick, which is gross. But if you are a fan of spooky or unnerving stories, I would definitely recommend it to you.

I heard recommendations for it, but I didn't expect it to be so gripping. I think this book is a new favorite of mine.
