Why are we changing breakfast? As I recall, we shortened the time on Friday because of the unstructured time becoming an issue. I am not sure why we would do that MORE days...so what am I missing? Also, if I am supervising in the hall, I cannot be supervising the kids that choose to get out of the hall chaos and into a smaller, quieter space of the classroom.

Beginning of Year

I don't want to sit in Beginning of year meetings having info read to me that 1) I can read myself or 2) being presented "mandatory" info where it's not new information. I would much rather spend this time in collaboration and/or getting to know new staff members. Is there some way that we could read the info, do a quick quiz, and then spend 5 minutes on questions and clarifications? This time is valuable and I would like the most to be made of it. Also, can individual time be in the morning versus afternoon sometimes? Thanks.

I am disappointed by the fact that both days started out negatively. Today's use of the word "passion" as a weapon was not veiled or helpful.

ETA: to make this a solution-based post rather than just a rant, let me add a potential solution. Do not reprimand a staff member in a 'not-so-veiled' manner in front of the group. When we have differing opinions, we need to be able to discuss them. Please model the behaviors you want us to use with students.
