Apartid in South Africa- remember watching this movie from the class in particular- Skin 2008 about a girl born from 2 white parents biologically but her skin was darker and the problems they face in relation to the environment of the time.

  • Even though water is important and good visual device, a lot of the other groups have also decided to use this.
  • Perhaps use water as something a bit more specific.-Mix it with/put along side more quantifiable moments/ images.
  • Really liked the collaged elements in the mood film. Maybe you can keep the more abstract, water related images but exchange one for a more quantified image (e.g. archival image and or photograph)

  • You are talking about body of water and water but Sea as a element has many meaning it self. (which you used at the beginning of the film)
  • Sea can be clam and relaxing but also very violent and scary. What is the way you can use the sea to convey?

  • The snap shots shown very quickly in beat works quite well. could you bring elements of the on beat snap shots to the animation?
  • Making of your own sound archive and to use the sounds to create the beats that are similar to the sound you used. (Phoebe mentioned the various sounds of water categorised by different emotions on the padlet)
  • Agreed with Rachel about he collage. Talked about the weight of the columns and how it can bring attention to each image differently. Giving them different level of importance and so on.
